Wow the bin dippers moaning a main story on BBC news at 10 tonight. Grow a pair , take it on the chin like every other club does
Agree with take it on the chin but bin dippers? Why do you use that phrase?

Seconded.

I don't like the club, I don't like the city, and I don't like scousers, but "bin dippers"? Really?
The phrase has been used for years and years and you know it.
Doesn’t make it right, does it?

I'm sure you would have just closed your eyes if you saw fans taking the piss out of Bradley Lowery as well. There are certain things to call people up on, even if "traditionally" it was alright to do so in the past.

It’s ok to call Arsenal fans Tarquins but not Liverpool fans bin dippers.
I find both comments juvenile but not offensive.

Without going on Google, I actually have no idea what bin dippers means.

It can't be very nice as people get quite upset about it, but then again, some people get upset about absolutely everything, and it is Liverpool, so I don't have too much sympathy.

Ok, whilst composing this message, I had to go and have a quick look at the definition. Err, yeah, I agree with Chicago. I wouldn't use the phrase, but it seems more childish than offensive. Maybe I'd think differently if I was affected by poverty. I've no idea.

It goes back to the 80s and "funny" chants like "sign on" etc. by people to fans less fortunate than ourselves.

Most have grown up and stopped it, along with leering at women playing football. Some haven't because it's all a laugh and bantz.

Ok, mate.

The word 'banter' or 'bantz' as it's more commonly known, is fucking dreadful.

Yeah somehow making fun of people for being a bit middle-class doesn't strike me as the same as making fun of someone for being poor. But what do I know, were I to encounter Sid's Holte friends I'd probably just burst into tears.

"We pay your benefits", chant the people from the metropolitan region with the highest rate of unemployment to the people from the region with the lowest.

That's a bit of a false equivalence there.

Why? In the "old days" we wouldn't have had fans report other fans for comments made at a football match. If Sid is stating he sits there and puts his hands over his ears, what is he ignoring?

Lots of things sung/chanted at football matches aren't 'right'. Rival fans have always been juvenile and derogatory about each other. When did 'In the Liverpool slums' stop being sang? That was widely delivered on The Holte whenever we played Liverpool.

Give it 20 years and they'll be chanting 'We have a illogical dislike of your team and hope you lose, but with respect'. <joke>
