The 2030 World Cup will be held across six countries in three continents, Fifa has confirmed.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco have been named as the co-hosts, with the opening three matches taking place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

What kind of nonsense is that?!

I suspect the FIFA kick backs now need multiple countries GDP's to finance.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco is fine by me, why there are 3 games in South America makes less sense though, I wonder if anyone will complain if they happen to lose after flying back to Europe.

Apologies because I haven't read the last four pages so it may have already been covered:  I have already stated that despite the incorrect decision to award the free kick for offside, the real problem lies with the fact that the game was restarted irrespective of how the Fred's in the Shed ballsed it up.  It is a fact in law that you cannot reverse a decision made during playing time if the game has been re-started.

When the International Board sit down to review this a change should be introduced where there is allowance  made within an appropriate timeframe which would allow this to happen.  If there is no timeframe then the game is open to anarchy and ridicule, the ridicule we already have enough of.  Just my thoughts on it.  Liverpool, as stated just need to suck it up and get on with it.  I think Klopp is saying the things he is because Liverpool believe it's what's expected of him.

What would be the time-frame though? Spurs pretty much went up the other end and scored within a minute of the freekick. So that would have meant a Spurs goal disallowed because VAR officials couldn't communicate properly. As much controversy as now, but at least with now the rules do stand and were followed, ie if the ball kicks-off after an offside call, then it doesn't get stopped. Having a match able to carry on for a few minutes, and then reset back was always a fear with VAR when first announced and pretty much doesn't happen at the moment because of rules like this. And is easily fixed by teaching the refs better "radio" etiquette rather then being "pally".

The South American games are to placate the centenary aspect I should imagine.

Maybe we should ask to play the Newcastle A game again as 2 of their goals were offside

How about England replaying the 1966 World Cup semi final game against Portugal at the venue where it was agreed to be played, Goodison rather than moving it for no reason to Wembley at the last minute allowing England to play all their games there and giving Portugal less than 24 hours, traveling through the night to get from Liverpool to London. Cheating English bastards!

On a slightly different note but still Liverpool related, I was just reading that Alexis MacAllister's brother plays for the team Liverpool are playing tomorrow night.

Apparently his brothers name is Kevin, so presume his wife will be home alone when he plays.

Klopp proving he's a tosser:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67003386
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants the Premier League game against Tottenham to be replayed after Luis Diaz's goal was wrongly disallowed by the video assistant referee.

You can't call him a tosser on here, think of Hillsborough.

You've skirted round it for long enough - why donít you just come right out and say you believe the lies?

I always find it utterly depressing that in order to make a trivial point on a football forum, the deaths of 97 people are fair game.

I manage to slag off their Manager, their team, their fans without having to refer to an event that but for the grace of God could've taken my life, my friends lives and the lives of many members of this forum.

The word delay, delay, delay featured quite prominently in the audio that has been released, once the on-field referee hears this then he could signal that the game has been halted for a review and a maximum of two minutes should be enough to sort it, if not carry on.  If a goal is scored then obviously it's disallowed.

World Cup to be held across 3 continents . How does this fit in with FIFA's sustainability / net zero / carbon neutral policies
