I just can’t get excited about these biennial Euros that clash with Olympic year, what were European Athletics thinking. Just a blatant cash in for the money. Go back to every 4 years imv. At least Brum in 26 will be the proper version.

I thought it was to keep up with the World Championships because there could be two editions of the Worlds in between editions of the European Championships. For example there were European Championships in 2002 and then World Championships in 2003 and 2005 before the next Euros in 2006.
Ireland finish second to the Netherlands in the women's 4 x 400m. What a race though, 2nd to 6th places finished within 1.5 secs of the Dutch.

There are some athletes getting to a level which could fill the marketing void left by Usain Bolt. Femke Bolt, Mondo Duplantis, Gianmarco Tamberi and maybe Mutaz Barshim, although him and Tamberi might be a bit too old in the long term.
