I was going mad about that incident where the Ref got hit by the ball. To be honest I thought I was wrong after what Hinchcliffe said so I'm glad to see this corrected on here.

Hinchcliffe is generally fair but it's that bias of seeing things from one point of view constantly that irks me. It happens across the piece and is reflected once again this morning in the Guardian's 10 things. I know it's big news that they lost their Manager but that is covered elsewhere in depth so one paragraph about the opposition would represent some thought and balance.

There was a called on 606 who said "losing TO THE LIKES OF ASTON VILLA is totally unacceptable".... I'll just leave that there.

I't feel like the Chelsea board and media almost felt the same way, almost well that's the last straw loosing to Villa. I quite like our currently flying under the radar and that no one has really watched us or comments on how we are playing in any in-depth way.

In reality I felt we went to Chelsea full of confidence expecting to win and at worst come away with a draw. Chelsea had a few moments but we have that different mentality now, one where we don't collapse from a 2-0 winning position.

We're still under the radar; I like that.

It won't be for too long, especially if we continue our current trajectory.

The Var on the potential Mings handball was also ridiculous.  What was he supposed to do when sliding in the direction of his goal and the ball comes off Emi at pace? Even if it hit him on the lower arm it could never be deemed intentional but I got the feeling that had it hit him clearly on the arm they'd have given it.

It was at that stage of the game as well where something soft as shite is given to give them a way back in

I think I heard someone mention this over the weekend, and if so, I agree, but what I don't get with Potter and Chelsea is that they didn't just take him from Brighton, they took their recruitment team also.

If you look at their insane dick waving, money spunking in January, which is one of the most insanely stupid transfer windows the game has ever seen, it is surely impossible to believe those signings all came from this top notch recruitment set-up, surely?

Did the same people who turned Brighton into a gold mine in terms of buying and selling players really say, yeah, £88m on someone whose career consists of 50 games in the Ukrainian league is money well spent?

Did they also think, yeah, let's spunk half a billion pounds and still rely on Kai fucking Havertz to get the goals?

It beggars belief.

Yep, good isn't it?

I hope they continue to spend stupid money and royally screw themselves up for years. Which, if they continue with these 9 year contract things, they are likely to do.

Having said that, should they get someone of the calibre of Unai Emery, they may find themselves doing ok.

What is the point of Kai Havertz exactly? Like someone put Stephen Ireland on a wrack for a year then glued some hair on him.

He just lopes around looking like a teenage girl.

Wish I had hair like his.

I nearly put, "wish I had his hair", but then I thought that makes me sound like Buffalo Bill.

Mudryk is one of the most impressively deranged signings. They literally just bought him because Arsenal wanted to. No plan, no strategy, no thought for how he might work in the team or how long it might take.

Just 'the Arsenal want him??? Sign him up!!'

He belongs to a group of feted players that look like they have high ability but make no significant impact whatsoever, his colleague Mason Mount being another one and the likes of Jaden Sancho and Anthony too.

Honestly, give me bloody Trez at the back post anyday.

It's worth watching the Villa On Tour video of the game for many reasons (H&Vs Daz finally entering the limelight, for one).

But especially for the amusing couple of chants towards the end were - "Carney, what's the score? Carney, Carney, what's the score?" as Chukwuemeka warmed-up near the Villa fans. Only beaten by "You've seen the Villa, now f@#k off home!" as blue seats became more visible in the last few minutes.

As away days go, it looked pretty unbeatable (until we win at Anfield in a few weeks, obvs).

While it was obviously a crazy window, they've already signed Nkunku from Leipzig to play up from next season. So I'm guessing that was in their thoughts when deciding not to spend another £100m on a striker.
