We won't buy Johnson & Diaby.

Huh.. didn't we put through a legitimate bid for Diaby?

We won't buy both.

Why wouldn't we? You don't think we're going to try and buy 2 forwards or is it because you think it'll cost too much? I'm fully expecting us to buy 2 forwards and if it's right Diaby can play centrally then it would make sense.

We're not going to buy 2 players who essentially offer the same. I think we will buy a second forward but it'll be someone with different attributes.

Absolutely.

We are a society that values someone who can kick a ball infinitely more than we value a paramedic who will save our lives, or a firefighter who risks their life to save ours.

Not really. The difference is in that more people can train to become a paramedic or a firefighter. To become a Premier League player is about as likely as being struck by lightening.

Hmm, not sure about that really, as the likelihood of becoming a player is limited because of the 20 club limit and the squad limit, not on there not being enough people capable of playing football.

We think a job that is less important is more valuable than a more common one that can be literally life or death. That’s the real point I think.

Football is important. Pretty silly for anybody to argue otherwise on here and especially so for a supporter of a club who gave the gift of league football to the world. It's a hugely significant social matter for millions up and down this land and billions across the world.

If you think football is limited because of squad size, rather than unique rare talent, play football with an ex-pro at five a side who you considered bang average at best, who was the size of a wardrobe at the time, but was so good they looked like a fat, northern Maradona.

I could train to be a nurse, a fireman, I could spend a 1000 years and never get anywhere as good as David fucking Unsworth.

I reckon he'll buy two versatile type forwards so they'll be relatively similar on that front. Excited to find out, anyway!

David Unsworth would be a good traffic officer - can do a sharp U-turn

Nurses and teachers and doctors should be valued higher than people who kick a ball for a living.

Life's not like that, though, it never has been, and never will be, because the world is not that sort of idealistic utopia.

Although, really, slightly lardy, balding, mid fifties, mid level tech managerial types are the people who should be earning the biggest bucks.

Man Utd willing to SELL Jadon Sancho with Aston Villa keen

https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2023/06/exclusive-man-utd-transfer-news-jadon-sancho-listed-for-sale-aston-villa-interest

It's all about the wages. If Man U pay him off So that he reduces his wage demands Then he may be an option worth looking at. Man U has financial fair play issues. So they need to reduce their squad.

If we can get the Jadon Sancho in the video below, then I'm in..

Peterborough Utd. I think Posh Spice tried to sue them at one point but might be an urban myth.

They want 60 million for him? Seems steep. I think they need to sell a few players to sort out their FFP, and probably have to try to recoup as much as possible, but I can't imagine anyone going close to 60 for him. We certainly shouldn't.

Sancho is absolutely not an us type of signing.

And Jesus Mary, spend 76 on him, watch him deliver the square root of fuck all in this league, then expect to get most of it back?

Bizarre on-the-ground header attempt by the defender 40 secs or so into that.

I thought vitiligo was quite common.
