That golf swing celebration can eff off n'all.

if he's doing it for us I'm fine with it. Knock in a century and raise his bat for all I care. Ward-Prowse is way more than free kicks. He runs all day and works his bollocks off for that team. He has the highest running stats in the PL. That tells me about his commitment, attitude and desire. For the right price and wages he'd be a super addition.

He's aiming for Augusta with another ex-Saint, Gareth Bale.

Ward Prowse would be a useful squad player, and wouldn't improve the first team. We need to improve the first team.

That is going to be a challenge, but if he did not make the first team any worse as part of a rotation then I would not be against him.
He is a very good player and those free kicks.

A no for Ward-Prowse from me. Not sure he's an Emery type player anyway.

Given the improvement we've seen in Luiz, McGinn, Watkins, Mings etc under Emery I don't think there's anyone I'd be against signing if Emery thinks he can do something with them.

It's perfectly possible that the Unai Emery version of James Ward-Prowse isn't the same as the Ralph Hasenhüttl version of James Ward-Prowse.

I don't think I've watched a Southampton game in which they weren't playing us, but for example they may see him as a great passer with good vision who has spent five years being wasted by putting easy balls into Che Adams' feet for him to back into defenders with.

But they think that if he's being coached to look for through balls for Watkins and Ramsey, and they think they'll get two or three massive chances per game that we're not currently getting then it's a double thumbs up from me.

JWP would be a fantastic signing imo. Not that we'd get him.

I would like to see upgrades on Bailey and Buendia, Bailey offers very little when fit and Buendia keeps giving the ball away cheaply.

I still think Buendia has something to offer, the priority is a replacement for Bailey we need a lot more than he is offering.
Still think Ball playing centre half and a RB is needed if we genuinely want to progress.

Jack Russells run about a lot. Is he better than what we’ve got? Not too sure.

We’re putting ourselves in a good position to take significant steps up in term of recruitment. And I’m not sure is Ward Prowse is that, or not.

Ward-Prowse would have been a good signing when we tried under Smith. Now I don't know what extra he'd offer unless it was captaining the Conference League team.

In terms of stats there’s not much between Ward-Prowse and McGinn.

This season in the premier league.

Appearances: Ward-Prowse (30) McGinn (26)
Goals: Ward-Prowse (7) McGinn (1)
Assists: Ward-Prowse (2) McGinn (2)
Yellows: Ward-Prowse (5). McGinn (5)
Shots: Ward-Prowse (39). McGinn (30)
Shot accuracy Ward-Prowse (55%) McGinn (47%)

Big chances created: Ward-Prowse (7) McGinn (6)
Pass completion Ward-Prowse (84.85%) McGinn (81.56%)
Through balls: Ward-Prowse (2) McGinn (7)
Crosses: Ward-Prowse (208) McGinn (33)
Dispossessed: Ward-Prowse (21) McGinn (26)

Interceptions: Ward-Prowse (39). McGinn (19)
Tackles: Ward-Prowse (51) McGinn (52)
Successful tackles Ward-Prowse (27). McGinn (29)
Aerial battles won: Ward-Prowse (40)  McGinn (17)
Fouls: Ward-Prowse (29). McGinn (27)

I think JWP is a decent player, but for the money he’d cost, he’s probably too similar to what we have already to be good value.

There's quite a big difference between 7 goals and 1 goal to be fair! McGinn with 6 more goals to his name would be ace.

I was wondering who would go for that tap in! Lol.
To be fair I thought people had mentioned his free kicks enough.
