I think so mate. Think we’ve only got Leicester and Forest to play who are below us; Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool away, Fulham, Brighton, Spurs at home. That’s just off the top of my head. Not frightening necessarily, but I imagine other teams have more of a spread that includes the bottom feeders, especially considering there’s nine clubs down there. That’s just current standings though, current form may be different I suppose.

When you think back to our early fixtures, what an easy start Gerrard wasted. Should have gone much earlier.

Oh yeah. And Brentford away has just occurred to me too (as one I missed, not one below us  - yet)

How brilliant would it be if we went on a winning run like with Smith in the promotion year. Obviously not winning 10 in a row but to go unbeaten

A chance for us to make a real statement here  by climbing above these wankers in the league.

2-0 to them.

In the last 19 games at Stamford Bridge our record is W1 D5 L13, I knew it wasn't great, but didn't think it was that bad. Our victory was on New Years Eve 2011, 1-3 when a certain Stephen Ireland got a goal and an assist, Stan and Bent the others.

Can't see us getting a Bournemouthesque result at Stanford Bridge: our record's there is crap!
Best we can hope for is a 1-1 draw.

As far as the national media is concerned, they've never taken much notice of us anyway (part of a wider Londoncentric anti-Midlands bias in this country) generally)!

Records aren't set in stone though, and the main reason we always lose there is that they've nearly always been really good in that period, and we were mostly really bad. Now we're far more evenly matched in terms of form and ability in the team. We've got the better manager, and our away form Emery has been excellent.

Agree Risso, it's been a long time since I've been as optimistic of a Villa win there, as I am today.

Getting a bit excited now for the “Why didn’t Barry take the Penalty” fixture.

Wouldn't it be better to focus on the Chelsea game?

I've got a sneaky feeling this is going to be a good convincing win.

It is worrying but i am really looking forward to this and am confident we will give them a game if not claim a victory

I still have nightmares about the Lamberk 8-0 game
