Hopefully I'll stay awake this time.

Hopefully today Cam will get a few more minutes. Maybe Watkins has insisted he'll only sign the new contract if Cam stays on the bench. ;) For me, Watkins best attribute is his positioning, few strikers can do it and Ollie knows where to put himself. Poor control but he's always there. Archer was all over the pitch in his few minutes against Saudi Utd, I hope Emery can give Archer some coaching about positional play as his finishing is five stars. Combine Watkins positioning and Archer's technique and we've the perfect striker.

We can rebuild him. We have the Emery.

Watkins? You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Emery has already performed miracles but to improve Watkins first touch? Start building a statue if it ever happens. I saw an interesting interview with a top striker, not sure if it wasn't Van Nistelrooy but he explained how as a youngster he never played with his right foot for 3 months purely to strengthen his left foot. After the three months he was comfortable with both.

Teaching Archer where he needs to concentrate his running is far easier. His technique is already very advanced.

Midnight is a very confusing time to start a game.

Isn't it just!

Oh, for heaven's sake, I thought this game was being played at midnight on Thursday, and was just about to go to bed.  Previous game I watched until half time, now I don't know what to do.

It is.

Villa socials have pics of some shirts hanging up, looks like coutinho is involved today.

Edit: and diaby!

The shirts look really poor quality in those pictures. Maybe it's just from being carted around on tour, but yeah, really shabby looking.

When we go 2-0 up after 15 mins , turn it off and go to bed happy days.

Good to see Olsen given a deserved chance to show he's ready to challenge for the number 1 spot.

So we should see Coutinho and Diaby both on at the same time in the 2nd half.

Interesting line up, I may indeed watch the first half, if only to enjoy that sense of relief in watching Olsen in a game that's only a friendly.
