Secure parking near ground
« on: February 02, 2023, 06:16:23 PM »
Been 4 or 5 years since driving to home game. Always used to use the secure parking adjacent to school playground of Manor Park school just off expressway, about £5 then.
Driving up for Arsenal game… is it still in use or if not any recommendations within about 10/15 min walk please  ?
Cheers
Daz

I use the school on Upper Sutton Street. £7 and a pleasant walk through Aston Hall.

The Power League parking on Lichfield Road is quite good, and you can normally be away fairly quickly afterwards. Under no circumstances use the factory opposite the Aston Tavern. They block everybody in with a row of cars by the gates, so if somebody at the front decides to take 40 minutes to amble back to their car, that's how long you're sitting there.

That was my go to spot back in the day. Instead of a fiver, if you chucked him a tenner you'd get a spot at the front and be away. I'd be in the Holte, and rush off at full time and with the roads being one-way I could be home super quick.

As you say, these days, if you're anywhere near the back, you're fucked for a long while and may as well be resigned to not getting away for an hour.

I always use Cuckoo Wharf on Lichfield Road. £8 but only about a 15 minute walk.

Used to be a fiver when parking on the site where they're building the academy building just past Witton station so looks like car attendants are keeping prices in line with inflation!

There’s a couple of schools on Trinity Road, up towards the A34, that charge £7 or £8

As an early arriver, I have a regular spot down a side street off Trinity Road.

I've done it a couple of times. No limit. I guess if you're planning on having food and watching a film you might need 4 hours plus anyway.

Another shout for Power League, it's a little bit further to walk, and it's obviously going to be slow when people are trying to get off the car park, but you're literally right next to the motorway once you clear that hurdle.

This sounds popular, I’m familiar with leaving m5 to m6 then Aston expressway, this is accessible from that direction isn’t it ? Straight to bottom of dual carriageway then left ?

We use The Marigold on Brookvale Road. £5, nice car park and easy to get out of at the end. Bit of a walk
