If anyone has the supreme arrogance to believe that somebody out there is writing bot scripts just to specifically piss them off on a football fan website, well, I'd suggest that their life as an overweight fiftysomething IT/accountancy/engineering consultant hasn't provided them with the happiness they hoped it would.
Talk about arrogance and being a clown -

The intersection of arrogance and clownery is a fascinating and often uncomfortable space. Here's a look at how these two concepts intertwine:

Arrogance as a Clownish Trait:

False Confidence: Arrogant individuals often wear a mask of exaggerated self-importance, much like a clown's outlandish costume and makeup. This false confidence can be a way to hide insecurities or deflect criticism.
Lack of Self-Awareness: Just as a clown might be oblivious to the audience's reactions, arrogant people often lack the self-awareness to see how their behavior is perceived by others. They may be blind to their own flaws and shortcomings.
Exaggerated Importance: Clowns often engage in slapstick humor, making themselves the center of attention through silly antics. Similarly, arrogant individuals may try to dominate conversations, seeking validation and admiration.
Disregard for Others: A clown's act can sometimes be at the expense of others, with pranks and jokes that humiliate or belittle. Arrogant people may also disregard the feelings and opinions of others, believing themselves to be superior.
The Clown as a Symbol of Arrogance:

The Fool's Arrogance: In literature and folklore, the clown or fool often serves as a satirical figure, highlighting the arrogance and folly of those in power. The clown's seemingly absurd behavior can expose the absurdity of societal norms and the pretensions of the ruling class.
The Mask of Humility: Some clowns may use humor and self-deprecation to mask their arrogance. By appearing humble and self-effacing, they can disarm others and gain their trust, all while subtly asserting their own superiority.
The Dangers of Arrogant Clownery:

Alienation: Arrogant behavior, even when disguised as clowning, can alienate others and create social barriers. People may tire of the constant need for attention and the lack of genuine connection.
Missed Opportunities: Arrogance can blind individuals to their own weaknesses and prevent them from learning and growing. They may miss out on valuable feedback and opportunities for self-improvement.
Destruction: In extreme cases, arrogant clownery can lead to destructive behavior. Individuals may engage in risky or harmful actions to maintain their image or prove their superiority.
Conclusion:

The relationship between arrogance and clownery is complex and multifaceted. While clowns can be entertaining and even insightful, their behavior can also reveal the dangers of arrogance and the importance of self-awareness. By recognizing the clownish aspects of arrogance, we can strive to cultivate humility and genuine connection with others.

That was such an outrageous goal. I don’t think many players in the World would have that instinct to do that.

It's been blatantly obvious since he arrived that he has outrageous talent and could be world class.

It was exceptional, the sort of goal you only score if you're in top form.

Yep, fair fucks to whoever scouted him he was really raw when he arrived but you could see the skill was there if he could get his head right. Huge credit to Emery as well for how he's handled him after the summer. I reckon he's the best young striker in the world now and the quote next time people come knocking will be £100m+.

I’ve never been speechless after we’ve scored until tonight, I couldn’t believe what I saw. He’s a very special player.

I still constantly forget he's only 20. I hope we keep hold of him long term and we can keep him happy to bide his time.

His general play and work rate have also improved a lot this season. He's showing more tactical awareness and adhering a bit more to the system and plan but more importantly, without losing that chaotic magic.
