As for Duran, I've said before he is almost the perfect player to bring on against a tiring defence.  I know he wants to start, but his impact coming on for the last 30 mins is unbelievable.  I still think Watkins is the better fit as our starting No 9, but I desperately hope we can keep Duran.
Yes, this is where my head currently is. I noticed on Saturday that he was running around at 100mph, chasing the ball-carrier from the back; something he wasn't so keen on doing.
Also, with the goals he's scoring this season, opponents are going to be well-sighted on the danger he poses: I think we'll find him getting a much tougher time on the pitch; which will test his temperament.

Yes, there will be more attention but on the flipside he's now created an aura where the opposition are not safe from anywhere on the pitch once he enters. He'll create spaces and panic by his very presence.
Fantastic isn't it?

His workrate has been impressive this season, him and Watkins pressing together would frighten most defences.

Very telling him winning the ball back before his chance.

Probably safe to remove “signed” from the end of this thread name, because you know…it’s been a while.

Yes. All this appending of things to titles seems very superfluous to me.

The most amazing thing about Durans performance apart from his goal is that he didn’t get booked

He's a goal grenade. Pull out the pin and lob him in.

Touch wood but as long as we have better luck with injuries we look like we have 9 players for 6 positions that you wouldn't like to not have in the team, Onana, McGinn, Tielemans, Ramsey, Bailey, Duran, Watkins, Rogers and Kamara once back. We need to rotate, to keep them all involved.

Apparently he's already equalled the record of three match-winning goals by a player coming on as substitute in a single Premier League season.

Not bad for four matches in.

This has always puzzled me but as his goal v Leicester put us two up and then they scored a consolation why is that called a match winning goal?

Because without it we wouldn't have won?

Because if he hadn’t scored it the final result would have been 1-1.

Radio 5 commentary of the goal

I was listening in Spain. Awesome

I was watching in a bar in Granada, with another Villa fan who happened to be there.
