Datro Fofana being mentioned as part of the deal. Looked bobbins at Burnley, so if he is, I hope it's a very small part.

Do Chelsea have 50 senior players or something? If so, can we at least choose from the top 25?

They had a ridiculous amount out on loan , may have slimmed it down a bit.

Chelsea in talks with Atlético Madrid over £30m-rated Samu Omorodion

Chelsea’s hunt for a new striker has seen them line up Atlético Madrid’s Samu Omorodion as an alternative to Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán.

Omorodion, a 20-year-old forward, has been on loan at Alavés and has been the subject of talks between Atlético and Chelsea. He scored nine goals in 35 appearances last season and could cost over £30m.

Chelsea have been given permission to hold talks with Durán, who is valued at £40m, but they are unsure about pushing ahead with a deal for the Villa striker. Durán’s wage demands are high and Villa are thought to have concerns over his attitude.

What's he going to be like if we're stuck with him for another season?

Hopefully, remorseful for losing out on a move to a club he really wants to sign for.  If that doesn’t teach him to grow up, nothing will.  I suspect though, this is just posturing by Chelsea.

It looks like his personal terms are the problem.

I wonder how much he's asking for that Chelsea of all people are questioning it. Can't imagine he was on a massive amount here.

One of the things they have done well in the last couple of years is trimming their basic wages. Most of the players are on highly incentivised pay packets so I suspect Duran is quibbling over the basic salary.

He’s going to get him into a very tricky situation if he’s not careful. He’s been batting his eyelids at Chelsea, either directly or indirectly, pretty much since he’s arrived. If he scupppers a move there then I doubt Unai is going to put a lot of stock in a player who very clearly doesn’t really want to be involved. He could find himself pretty isolated.

Unai doesn't seem like the kind of manager to "freeze out" a player, the way Gerrard did.
Emery is more mature and has the experience to realise that all players can contribute something. Look at the way he used Chambers, Lenglet and Dendoncker for example, never completely isolated them.
However i'm sure he'd be happier if the transfer happens.
