By the time Chuck has been there 2 years they'll be on their 5th manager, 6th if you include the bloke between Potter and Lampard. That's not the stability i'd be after as a young player.

He wants to play. He wants to join Chelsea who have 120 players. Something doesn’t add up.

Fucking agents...

But that is most likely the crux of the matter.

At Villa he is a backup player on backup player wages.

Chelsea will also make him a backup player, at best, just like Chukwuemeka, & in a lesser European tournament, so the only thing that doesn't add up is what he thinks & expects his bank account to be if he moves to that dumpster fire of a club Chelsea.

And if that is his motivation, then he is welcome to leave.

On our terms.

If we demand a silly amount of money, that will fix any potential FFP concerns, stops all the fucking talk of a club like Liverpool "swooping in" & taking Jacob Ramsey, etc, who apparently doesn't want to leave anyways, from shit media outlets like 'Football Insider'.

Personally, if he wants to leave for Chelsea with the clubs in their current states, then good fucking riddance...

Whilst I also think he could be really good in the future, I have to say, I couldn't agree more!!

Thing is i never thought much of Chuk, a player who believed his own hype and looked like he really couldn't be arsed most of the time, just wanted the money. Thankfully for us and him Chelsea believed that hype too and gave us £20m for him and presumably a big salary for Chuk. I rate Duran highly and would love him to stay and i think he'll regret going there if he does, as he'll undoubtedly be in a worse situation than staying here. If he went somewhere where he's obviously going to be first pick i could understand that. Like you say, fucking agents.

Signing players without the manager's input hasn't really worked out well for them so far, has it, and here they are wanting to do it again. If he wants to go, bollocks to him, and just fleece them for £50m plus. He's at a team in the Champions League with the best manager in the Premier League, a manager who has a reputation for developing the talent in players. And he wants to chuck that in for a team not in the Champions League, with no manager and a huge amount of players he'd be competing against?

If that's the case, then he's exceedingly daft and deserves everything coming his way.

I'd like Duran to stay, but it must be pretty miserable being back up to the indestructible Ollie Watkins.

But if he wants gametime surely Chelsea isn't the answer.  You'd think somewhere like Brighton, Wolves, West Ham or even Man U for a season or two would make more sense career wise.

Yes this Chelsea stuff coming up each window - be it from an agent or cryptic social media posts - is tiresome. If he is genuinely keen to throw his lot in with them so be it, but it must be on our financial terms.

I know they have a lot of attacking talent but isn't Jackson basically their only real "number 9". I know the likes of Nkunku can play there but I'm sure he's more of winger/attacking midfielder type, like a lot of their forwards. Maybe he'd have more of a chance there than we think. Having a manager in place who wants him would help, mind.

He's just scored two late goals after coming on a sub - against the team finishing third in the premier league and in a high pressure game - by so doing he delivered champions league football for his team. Now, remind me what they paid for Mudryk. Any bidding starts there thanks. And if his agent wants him to get the move that much he'll be agitating at around those numbers. Anything less and he can do one. If he wants his commission that much he'll sort it.

I don’t think you can underestimate the pull of London for  a testosterone fuelled Millionaire 20 year old  footballer.
It’s probably the last thing he needs but his agent isn’t going to turn down a nice fee.

I think I read somewhere that Duran is this particular agent’s only client or one of two which tells a story too.

As much as I'd like him to hang around it's not imperative he does. It looks like we have to offload someone to comply with what ever rule it's called now and if it's between Duran and Luiz then there's no contest.

I'm not fussed if he stays or goes. In fact I'd prefer if he went. I just don't see him as a team player or following instructions from anyone.

An impact player, at best & if we can squeeze £40m+ for him, I'm sure we'll bite their hands off.

A big move to Chelsea & the associated salary increase would only reinforce his attitude.

If we HAVE to sell someone for £50m+, and that person is Duran and thereafter we keep Luiz, Ramsey and Watkins and not worry about PSR, then pack your bags young man, I'll be round within the hour to drive you there.
