I'm also absolutely loving opponents frothing at our time wasting and gamesmanship. I don't think it's entirely justified or any worse than those teams that have been doing it for years, but the very fact it's happening and working and upsetting the opposition is great.
It seems when we do it, its time wasting & disgraceful. When other teams do it, its "game management". Just heard Hinchcliffe praise Rotherham for doing it. One rule for others & all that...

Strong battling performance. Committed, working hard, fighting for each other and the club - give me this and that will do for now.
The rest will improve. We've come such a long way already under Unai.
This is spot on.

Don't get the hate for Ayling either, seems a decent bloke
Agreed, i like him and he’s done very well from where he started out, always one of their better players when we play them.
He is a filthy cheating whiny little bitch clogger who gives it out in spades & then screams blue murder like nobody on this earth when somebody so much as slightly invades his safe space. I have no idea what he does off the pitch & I have no desire to make him go bankrupt or anything, but on the pitch, I despise him & hope someone snaps the little prick in two.

We have had 10 yellow cards for time wasting this season, comfortably the highest in the league and all probably merited, so that suggests we are the worst at this season so far. It's certainly not a quality I enjoy. Teams that time waste have got lots lots of stick from Villa fans in the past as well.

Much of it is borne out of a lack of mutual confidence, so hopefully this will reduce as we improve.

Leeds are all energy and running. Their problem is that is all they are.

I thought we were poor by our own standards but a couple of moments of quality was enough.

That’s why Leeds are where they are in the table.

They still play as they did under Bielsa only they’re much blunter with it

Yeah it was interesting, the had a few moments and their winger played well. I thought Rodrigo made intelligent runs as well. But it was noticeable that with our limited opportunities we were just much more incisive and clinical. The quality from Ash, Kamara, and Bailey for our first was just outstanding.

I agree with you 100%. I just despise the double standards when it comes to Villa & other clubs from the media.

They reminded me of a decent championship team. Lots of energy, committed, but low on quality.

They look like an American team. Like you say, lots of energy, all capable players, organised, but there's no spark.

2 wins in 18.
I comfortably predict they will be relegated if they keep their manager

I have to admit, I hate our OTT time wasting and it won’t be long before it bites us on the bum. Why on earth collect yellows like this. It’s senseless. It’s easy to spot exactly when the ref has lost his patience, just pass it or punt it then. We will no doubt become the first team to get a red for this, for sure. Refs will start to pick our players out for it.. I believe it’s very high on their agenda right now.

I thought we started it far too early last night. Wasn't Konsa booked for it after an hour? It only was upsetting our own play at that point. Konsa had a shocking second half I thought

What did he do that was so shocking?

Give me defensive lapses rather than "I can't stand him passing the ball sideways to Young five yards away all the time."

I thought he was huge in last 10 minutes, cut out plenty of dangerous crosses from Leeds. If he dosen't the ball probably goes to Bamford for more tap ins.

His inability to be in any way constructive with the ball is a real problem in breaking past an opposition press but my problem with him last night was that he was indecisive in the tackle and general decision making after half time. If you want specifics I'd have to go through the match thread where it was commented on a lot, Gary Neville was slating him too (and Mings to a degree).

Surprising how little media attention Newcastle's shit-housing gets.

They're much worse at it than we are.

I think that, particularly Emi, is now pushing the limits with the time wasting and think he will get sent off before too long as the referees are getting wise to this now.
Considering he had literally just got off the plane, Moreno looks a real player and think he will become our get out as he was taking up some great positions last night. Also, he put into a couple of great crosses which our other full backs can’t seem to do. For the price we’ve paid for him, he looks like a great acquisition.

Gets about as much attention as their ownership. No longer suits the media agenda to offer any critique.
