One deflected shot and a great save from Emi equated to our goal leading a "charmed life" in the first half according to SSN.

Your team lost, get over it.

Wasn't there a cracking goalline clearence by Moreno aswell?

They played well and I think there's three worse teams than them in this division.

Will probably have to whisper this quietly but I'd prefer them to stay up as there's always some sort of edge between us stemming from the championship seasons so more interesting home and away game than playing half of this division these days.

Moreno blocked the ball at near the post, not on the goal line and that along with the save were the only chances the SSN showed from the first half. It's about the choice of language, they had plenty of possession in the first half but, and this is reflected in the stats, few chances. I thought it was a fairly even game and I'd certainly like to see us to play better, but some of the reporting is almost Small Heath/Tattum-like moral victory nonsense.

Watched the game over breakfast, knowing the score, so less emotion than usual. We were certainly lucky to lead at half-time; they have several really good chances. And if Rodrigo played for Scum or Arsenal, they would have had a penalty too.

We were poor first half with no attacking play. We did better after having gone 2-0 up and finally we created good chances and played some pretty football in bits but over the whole match we were a bit fortunate. Which, given it was Leeds, makes it extra satisfying.

Young would maybe have been my MoM if it weren't for him being at fault for their goal. Sanson could maybe have done better too but I can't put any real blame on him for us conceding.

Kamara immense and Buendia, whom I rarely praise, had a very good game.

Ramsey and Ings anonymous.

Just noticed from the highlights the run Digne made for the first goal to drag one of the Leeds defenders off Kamara. Quite the effort.

Bouncing back with a win is always good!
Stevenage proved they’re better than dirty Leeds.
Young’s slip was costly, but thankfully we were able to see the game out. Kamara and Emi were outstanding. Solid debut from Moreno; he was involved at both ends of the pitch.
Ref was awful throughout!
Did Leeds fans sing at all for their team? I couldn’t hear them from where I was sitting. Great atmosphere in the Holte particularly 2nd half! UTV!

How is Ayling a Premier League player? I'm all for players who come up through the divisions, but he looks like he should still be at Yeovil Town.
Someone needs to snap that jumped up little prick.

Having seen how genuinely happy he was for Emi in the tunnel, congratulating him for the WC cup win, he might actually be a good sort.

Seem to remember reading something in the summer about what a decent bloke he is - charities, communities, volunteering etc.

Obviously his hair goes a long way to countering that though.

Yes, I think Ayling seems a good bloke, plays with a smile on his face, didn’t notice anything untoward and although it was competitive and feisty didn’t think there was actual needle in the game. The only problem I have with Leeds is Marsch. He is graceless and classless, and he doesn’t know how to do - or won’t do -a respectful handshake. Gnonto is very good. Kamara is better still though, what a performance by him.

Kamara - what a player. I not be long before the scum bag tabloids are pushing him onto Liverpool or Man Yoo.

Bailey - Needed that goal. Said in the pre match if he scores insides 5 minutes he’ll find his confidence.

Luke Ayling - he’s got my hair cut and my commitment to his team. Love to hate him but imagine 11 players with that commitment (not talent).

They did their usual two song repertoire of ‘We are Leeds’ and ‘Losing All Together.’

5 Live's sports bulletin this morning. "...a result that leaves them level on points with Chelsea, would you believe!"

Fuck off with with your patronising ad-libs. There is nothing level about the Villa and a plastic, rouble-laundering historical non-entity.

Leeds dirty bastards as usual especially early on although this time they weren’t ‘just dirty’, I was impressed with their high tempo hustle bustle otherwise. Their manager is the most irritating prick of a manager I’ve seen for some time. We had a lot of positives after the shit show in the cup but we’ll need to play better. Martinez great as ever, Young excellent until he tired towards the end. Kamara is class, brilliant run for our first goal, Bailey had a good game and took his goal well. Buendia waste of a shirt first half but better second. New guy looked good, excellent if you consider the circumstances of coming on as an early sub after only signing 2 days ago. Some of his forward play could potentially give us a new dimension and against less physical in your face teams he should have a field day. Coutinho had a few decent touches, the rest of the team were off it somewhat. Good 3 points though.

Considering we had to change our game plan after 5 minutes and again after 30 minutes, with a new defender who doesn't even know the Tea Lady's name it was no wonder we looked 'lost' in the first half.

Regrouped during the interval and played much better the second half.

Under the circumstances a remarkable victory. Well done.

Like the way Moreno runs 'off the ball' into the 18 yard box a lot. Not the usual blinkered full back and must be a nightmare to defend against.

Onwards and upwards  :)
