That's a good point. I might keep Moreno, also, depending on how he gets on.

Avoided even thinking about football this week until today, and I remain pissed off to a degree unreasonable for a grown man. Nothing but a statement-making victory will do for me here. A performance that's basically an apology is what I'm after.

We are fresh from a humiliation and I'd hate to be in Leeds' position of having to play us when we are so wounded.  We will be absolutely rampant and 'at it' on Friday.

FT: Aston Villa 0 Leeds United 2

I think it's a hangover from that insane Championship game with the walked-in goal, and then being at VP for that Christmas game where we blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 (which was my fault. I'd bought tickets for my Leeds-supporting brother-in-law and nephew. When we scored the second I patted him on the shoulder and said, "merry Christmas". I immediately realised I'd fucked it for us), but I think I fear Leeds more than any other side. Their away fans are always mad up for it too.

Wasn't that a 3-3 draw where we threw it away?  0 -1 nil down, back to 3-1 in front (3 great goals) only to fall apart and concede 2

No, we lost 2-3. Kemar Roofe (I think) scored the winner at the death.

Edit: we went 2-0 up in the first half (again, I think).

No, the 2-3 was where Jack (where is he now) Clarke came on and ripped Elmo to pieces.

Actually it was me, I'd been eulogising the otherwise resolutely dependable Elmo to my nephew just before he went to pieces

We were both at fault, Lee. This is what's so good about our relationship.

That was this time last year, Coutinhio pulling all the strings, before our defence wobbled.
The 2-3 was in the promotion year for us when they fell apart again. I remember we were 2-0 up but really didnt deserve it, even so with xmas train timetables etc, we were walking back to Aston station when we heard their supporters go nuts.

We have a really good record at Elland Road in recent years, but we haven’t beat them at home for a good four or five seasons. Long overdue
