Nothing to do with the selection. That team should have been far too good for Stevenage.
Fair enough. But the fact remains that the manager selected a team (and the substitutes), and we are out. Captain Hindsight here.

most embarrassing defeat of the round.. of course it’s Villa. Get Olsen out tomorrow, sit Bailey for a month and stop fucking about with crap players.

Fucking livid right now. At home to an absolute Blues Stevenage side.

Dion had it right from about the first minute when he said we needed to be moving it about with a bit of a zip. We didn’t and it was utter shite.

Have we ever been involved in a more embarrassing FA Cup exit.
Total humiliation

Stand to be corrected but I think the last time we went out to a Div 4 side was Southend in 1971. Our keeper that day (Tommy Hughes) had a stinker and never appeared in a Villa shirt again.

To be fair to Unai. The selection should beat a league 2 side if they put a shift in.  Clearly there is work to do, we have to give him a chance. We are not going to win every game. It will take time to develop the squad. This at least gives him a clearer idea of what is required. Frankly I was not at all surprised at this result , we seem to have a habit of this.

F-cking dreadful! Absolutely f-cking dreadful!
Other than Sanson every other player should be f-cking disgusted with that! Substitutions didn’t improve us at all. Captain for the last home match...where was Young’s leadership when he came on alongside 2 poor cbs. An international goalkeeper who gets beaten at his near post by a daisy cutter is f-cking disgraceful and what kind of hospital ball was that to dendoncker for their 1st. We were sh-t throughout and barely troubled their keeper.
The lot of them can just go and f-ck off!

There should be some fucking public beheadings for that second goal.

Absolutely nobody anywhere near the scorer when the corner comes out to him, all the time in the world, and our fucking useless keeper gets easily beaten at his near post.

Comedically piss poor.

It’s like waiting for an ambulance trying to get on to this site.

Everything is broken these days.

Obviously no deliberate disrespect by Emery but I don’t think he realises just how bad some of our players are. The list is getting bigger match by match.

An awful display from start to finish.

Over 90 mins there goalie has barely had a save to make.

It's a typical feature of the modern daygame; squad players come in with a misplaced arrogance. They thought they could stroll round at a testimonal pace going nowhere with tippy tappy passing and were well and truly found out.

Bailey, PC, Cash, Olsen, & the left back not good enpough for sarters.

Take a look at the winner again...Watkins shows all of his bravery by turning his back and practically jumping put of the way.

Utterly pathetic. And so Villa. Change the manager, change the owners, change the players and we still lose to a lower league side AGAIN! WTF? They never actually played with any conviction. Too slow, too ponderous and acted like Stebeage were atop side - well they were better than us today. Spitting blood here about that performance.

One FA cup win since losing in the final in 2014 is some record but not one to be fucking proud of. Premier league managers constantly bang on about wanting to do well in the cups yet put out reserve sides against lower league opponents who are always up for it.

I'd say it's all about selection.
How many years have Villa messed about with the line up when the 3rd round comes round and we draw "lesser sides"?

Difficult to know what to say after that.  A braindead turn on his penalty box by Dendonker aside we'd have won it, people would've been saying routine, if uninspired win.  My internet crashed after the penalty so I haven't seen their winner.  But to capitulate like that against a 4th division side is somewhat worrying.

I'm not as bothered about the FA Cup as many on here are, but this defeat is pretty embarrassing and unnecessarily dents a good start by Emery.  We looked totally uncomfortable with having most of the possession and never looked really dangerous with the ball.

The most disappointing thing (after the result itself) is Coutihno's performance.  He looks finished I'm afraid, and the look on his face when subbed was one of acknowledgement of that fact.

Bailey was totally wasteful again.  Ings looked old.  I'd sell both if we can.

From here, we must have a big transfer window.  This game's all about momentum and losing that in the way we did has fucked our momentum right up.

Sigh.

That must go down as the worst giant killing embarrassment in my Villa supporting life. Pathetic.

It's still Doncaster. We were shit today but still dominated, Doncaster we were outclassed everywhere.
