FFS. One game left, and he completely changes the team who spanked Man U last week.

Was going to stick a tenner on for us to win but don’t think I’ll bother now.

Fair comment.  Flies in the face of Emery's comment that he wanted to win a trophy.  That lineup suggest he actually can't be bothered.  Disappointing.

He will use this to learn who his players are when it matters. If he can make that team compete tonight, then he is very very good

And if he can't, then we've thrown away another cup competition for a year.

Agree.  Most of our squad are not going to the world cup and have plenty of time to rest and have played no European games - no excuses for tiredness.

Think he may be more bothered about 8 points on Sunday.

Interesting. McGinn gets another opportunity in his proper position, behind the strikers. Watkins and Ings has never really worked before, but we'll see. With Luiz and Kamara starting together (for I think only the second time), it might work better tonight.

Disappointing.

Just trying to keep the fringe players happy but at the expense of a serious crack at the cup.

I think there will be an element of wanting to see some more of the squad in action too. Let's see how it pans out. We might be surprised (we probably won't).

Let's just see how it pans out. The players aren't being given a game plan from Steven Gerrard. So I get there is concern, but I'm also intrigued how a proper manager and coaches will have prepared us for this game.

We'll have to see how it goes, but that is a disappointing selection on paper.  They have made the same amount of changes, but are arguably stronger in certain areas.  We are considerably weaker in almost every position as a a result of our changes.

I think we showed at the weekend our players aren't as shit as the results so far had indicated. It also means other players can step up and improve.
