I think he's going in the summer, he isn't himself and the team needs a massive overhaul and i doubt he fancies it.

There are better jobs available, if he stays there is a very real risk we fall off a cliff if the rebuild goes wrong and tarnish his memory.

Win a cup, get us in the CL again and I think he will see it as job done.
My thoughts entirely too.
I think so too. He’s been with us about as long as he ever stays at a club I think.

It’s just recycled tabloid stuff isn’t it? I suspect it actually materialising is highly unlikely.

I don’t know what is going on, but it is patently obvious we are not playing well enough. There is a fundamental flaw in our approach to the game, when we’ve been at our best under Unai our play out of the back has been purposeful. We are aimless and everyone looks to be operating as individuals.

It’s a massive couple of days for Unai, especially as Forest look to be flying.

One reason, Boubacar Kamara. He is simply the core of how we play and irreplaceable. Our form correlates with his availability.

Then we need to learn to be more flexible and resilient without Bouba. He’s a fantastic player, but we should be performing better than 13th/14th in the league, in terms of form, without him.

He’s been linked with Real Madrid again today.  Great timing.

He wishes 😂 Not a chance

He may leave at the end of the season if we get CL. If we fuck it up completely, he'll definitely go.

We brought in Onana to do exactly that, I think, and it works fine when he's fit.

Sadly, that isn't nearly often enough. We need to replace Onana with a more durable version in the summer and we should be OK.

Balague did a column on BBC the other day about Real's new manager options and Unai wasn't one of them. Given he's relatively close to Emery, he might be protecting the relationship but you'd think he would have mentioned him even in passing.

Or, build on a great Europa League success, rise to the challenge of building a new squad and prove the continuing doubters wrong.

I prefer Mister E's idea.  Im hoping theres a couple more chapters left in his time with us - im not convinced the rebuild is that big.  I think we think - oh - we have to get ride of martinez, watkins, mings, digne - where actually there is little point as there still good players and can do a job and wouldnt generate much revenue.  I think maybe 2 or 3 decent signings (like in Unai's first summer), plus a a couple of decent loans frees and I think well be ok.

Ulitmately a rebuild isnt happening cos we cant afford one.

This is where I am with Onana. I like him, he's a good player, but we can't have both our DM's being injury prone. If it was another position I could take it, but the drop off is too big in a vital position.

Disagree with all this speculation.  Unai has the keys and he’s up there with the highest paid managers in the league, and he knows he has the full backing of very rich owners.  I agree that he’s going through stages with the highest paid press last season to the playing through the middle this season, and I’m intrigued to see what he comes up with next season if he has a bit of flexibility to get the players he wants.

Can’t help feeling JJ would have been a great help to us right now

What's he ever done here or at Newcastle to make you think that?

I think he’d be useful purely on the basis he’s not Sancho, Bailey, or Elliott.

He’s been linked with Real Madrid again today.  Great timing.

Not a chance in the world. He's the exact opposite of what Madrid want. Klopp and Mourinho are the two names strongly linked. Klopp is waiting for the Germany job and happy to sit it out at Salsburg doing office work until the job if offered to him; Mourinho will probably be allowed to leave Benfica and he's Perez's preferred Head Coach.

Managing Madrid is more about massaging egos than sitting the players down for a 2 hour post match/pre-match analysis. The players would probably get up and walk out.
