Think we would all prefer to see the likes of Hemmings and Burrowes getting minutes over the likes of Bailey at the minute

Its 100% Unais short coming. He wants instant success and trys to build for that. He is not bothered about tomorrow at all

Which is why i feel this summer is massive and could see him walk. Olabe has to change our shambolic rec strategy (and rightly so) but will unai want to have to accept that? thats questionable

just look at his use (or lack of) of alysson. Why he isnt even on the bench over elliott and likes of bailey get minutes is boiling my piss

I know Hemmings didn't look ready when he started. But surely he deserves 10 minutes at the end of a game to give him a chance to learn. Alysson is inexplicable. He has looked exciting in the brief appearances we've seen. And it's hard to imagine what Jimoh will be learning from brief appearances as a sub at the bottom of the Championship.

Ah okay, odd one then especially with Sancho unavailable.

Is there an argument that Villa are producing a superb crop of Academy graduates and that the Emery reign is squandering them?

I’d love to see a couple of them given a chance. It’s like a total blind spot for him.

Gave three of them a chance v Salzburg and two of them went on loan the next day!

If Emery has deemed Bogarde the best academy prospect on the books, I like him but he's limited, then it's clear we don't have a superb crop available. We had this talk before at the end of MON's reign but it was soon clear the likes of Bannan, Clark, Albrighton weren't really up to it. Need to be careful.

Also we should never have sold Ramsey!

I think Albrighton was but the fucking management certainly wasn't.

And yes, we should never have sold Ramsey.

Youth teams, for clubs in our position, are little more than revenue streams for PSR purposes. Maybe once every few years a player comes through into the first team, but again it’s probably better to sell those ones on, too.

I am not sure I would agree with that - Man City use them, and didn't Liverpool use some 12 year old in yesterday's match?

It is not so much that we don't use them, in my opinion, it's just that we seem to make seemingly inconsistent moves with them, and with lots of our transfers in general.

Barrenechea, for example. What on earth was that whole episode about? Elliott? The Turkish CB?

It all seems so random, and I think the youth player usage thing is probably a part of all that.

With PSR changing to SCR, it's not going to be as beneficial to sell promising young players.

Neither of those clubs have the arbitrary restrictions of PSR though, they get to look at their academies in a different light to us.

Even Arsenal .Youngest premier league goalscorer in Max Dowman 16. I mean blooding some youngsters wouldn't have been any worse than some of our out of form players. Unai seems far too rigid in selections and tactics.
