Had a stinker last 2 games. Time to show what we're made of.

Yes regrettable that they were absolutely pivotal games. He has to learn when we set up to smother and take the heat out of games it robs us of what makes us good. It should be really fucking obvious.

Probably in a minority but I don't really care if we finish 5th now. After CL ended it was all on the FA Cup for me and giving this long suffering generation of Villa support from late 90s finally a trophy winning side to enjoy.

We've fallen short in dismal fashion and I suspect we'll have a similar performance and result down at Bournemouth as they have endless pace on the break so in two weeks our CL hopes will be over.

If money wasn't an issue I'd actually be fine with missing out on Europe for a season and give FA AND League cup a proper go.

Newcastle have done o.k this season, kept all their key players, won league cup and looking very good to make top 4.

Emery is a good manager but he's no Saunders, Atkinson or Little.

He's won more than them combined.

Not for us.

Yeah but we won’t miss out on Europe all together though. We need to finish strong, although that looks fucking unlikely at the moment.

There is a chance with late wins for Fulham and Brighton along with Palace now maybe getting the FA Cup. You would think we won't give up a six point lead but the end of April has just fucked us and god know what the atmosphere will be with the players or at Villa Park now with the two recent bottles.

Yup. Although perhaps like some others, I’m just not bothered about the rest of the season now. Maybe once I calm down I’ll feel differently.

It'll be a funny season to look back on. I think the champions league campaign and the 5 game winning run which shot.us.bsck up the table has glossed over the fact that for a huge chunk of the season- say late September up to about a month and a half ago we've been often quite poor. We shouldn't be having days like this as often as we've had this season.

Managed to take the huge momentum we had seven days ago and kill it stone dead. Wrong on Tuesday and a terrible team selection today. A good manager yes, but needs to find a way to get us back to high intensity next season, this slow play is turgid shit.

We're too passive too often. I can understand it against 'lesser' teams when the theory was we were managing ourselves for the business end of the season. Now we're at the business end and apart from Newcastle and 2nd half v PSG where we tore both apart we're still passive. What are we saving energy for now, a post-season friendly?

I sort of, sort of, get the slow play earlier in the season as an energy conservation thing. But it is just not a thing in a one-off semi-final. He’s tried this against Glasner before and got spanked each time. Everything, absolutely everything, was wrong today. Just crushingly bad.

We'll want Man City to win (unfortunately) should they beat Forest for the Europa League place to drop down to 7th. Sad times.
