Other observations:
- McGinn looks like he's dragging a tractor-tyre behind him these days. When did he lose his pace?
- Tielemans' passing has deteriorated. Was it Tanswell who suggested that his attempted through-balls means we're losing more possession than last season because they're easier to cut out?
- We're missing Ramsey, Onana and (until recently) Kamara far more than we thought we would. We have too get these three into the starting 11.

Yep Tielemans is another one who has become a problem. It seems the more he struggles the more audacious his passing becomes. At his best he’s an excellent creative passer, but he’s not good at ticking possession over. It’s a big part of midfield lacking control.

Unai also needs to be mindful of his language, saying stuff like at the start of season we can “sense some teams are better than us” and including Chelsea in that is frustrating. We shouldn’t be acting so defeatist, it’s beginning to permeate through our play.

We should be much better than we are at the moment Unai - sort it out.

I know afew people thjnk hw is bettee than luiz but i dont. Doesnt score nearly not as much as dougie did.

If he is available for loan we have to get dougie back. Its a must for me

True he's not going anywhere but I do fear this season will soon be a write off.

I think he's all in for doing well in the CL and that has affected the focues on the league.

Fitness seems the biggest problem, we know we're blowing out of our arses after an hour - the general tempo is so slow.
We are no longer a suprise.

Yet you look at Liverpool and they're high intensity every single game. I know players get tired, but sometimes I think it's just an easy excuse.

He looks like he's carrying one around his stomach as well.

I’ve said before he’s a different player to Doug. You can build a midfield around Doug, Tielemans augments a midfield that’s already built. Unfortunately our midfield structure just doesn’t work.

Tielemans was brilliant start of the season.

Let's not forget he was withdrawn from the Belgium squad so he's not 100% currently.

That's a problem, getting players out there who aren't 100% on it due to limited options. Seen this with Bailey for a few months now and a few were remarking Rogers was looking like he was about to throw up walking off the pitch so seems he played the Juventus game with a virus.

He was very good creatively, which he can absolutely be. But teams were still playing through us with ease and him at the base was part of that.

When he says that stuff, I would say it's for the media audience.  I doubt very much the players and himself speak or think like that at Bodymoor.

He doesn't say it in a fatalist way, but as a challenge. It's what he's been saying the whole time he's been here. Sounds better after wins than after defeats, but that's a huge part of his success - not being flustered by winning or losing, treating triumph and disaster both the same and all that.

Teams are now playing a pressing AND very very niggly physical game.
We are been bullied out of games.
Plus when we do manage to break nicely our final ball and finishing has been woeful.
So two things for Emery to fix. Or he will be gone.

Success is not going to look a straight line growing only in the right direction, there are going to be ups and downs, poor patches and good ones.

It's frustrating as fuck to be looking so poor at the moment, but if we have to go through a patch like this, then this is a pretty good point to do it. There isn't much sign of consistency elsewhere around us.

There are only 4 points between us in 12th and Brighton in 4th at the moment.
