Nah, I like it. Can't stand all that "pay attention to me" showing off for the camera. I remember when we beat Leeds in the League Cup Final and everyone was shouting "we want Brian". He never came back out though, just left it to the players to have their moment. That twat Klopp would have celebrated in front of every camera and would have to have been surgically removed from the pitch. The massive twat.

I agree, I love that he fucks straight off and starts planning for the next game. He's enjoying it, no doubt about it.

You could see he was absolutely fucking buzzing as he headed off down the tunnel at the end.

Well, quite but I don't understand why he always does that. Surely you want to drink in the atmosphere that you've been instrumental in creating. The ground was rocking, I want him back at the mic on the pitch and an "Up the Veella!", not scurrying back to the dressing room to crack one off to the highlights of Bologna against Liverpool. There are better ways of release, Unai, it's all I'm saying.

I love the bloke, but I agree on special nights like Wednesday, he applauded the Trinity Roaders, but just think of the reception he would have got if he had gone to the Holte Enders.

I think he will if/when we win something.

As big as it is to us, and as much as it clearly does mean a lot to him, for Unai, beating Bayern Munich is just another match.

We've been starved of success for so long that we've come to accept avoiding relegation, getting beaten in a cup final every five years and beating our pygmy local 'rivals' as great times.

Emery is exactly what we've needed. A manager who, if we're being brutally honest, was too good for the job he took on. But he bought into it and, I think, fell in love with the club.

Now, within two years, and thanks to him, managing Aston Villa is a job that is worthy of his talent and abilities. He is not interested in losing cup finals, staying up on the last day, beating Small Heath on the rare occasion they manage to get into the same division as us, asking Wolves how that gap is looking, or... well, anything to do with West Brom.

A one-off victory against one of the biggest clubs in the world barely registers for him.

He is looking upwards. I'm not predicting or suggesting we should expect anything like this, but I am 100% confident that Unai believes he can win the league and the Champions League with Villa.

It may all end in tears, who knows, but from what we've seen so far - would you bet against him?

This is the dilemma we have now. We aren't (yet) good enough to win the League or the Champions League - that's why the two domestic cups are important. But they are so far down our list of priorities that we won't win them either.

I see Guillem Balague is writing about Emery and his time with us. Nice.

I think NSWE have been very clever in firstly appointing him and then giving him a huge contract. But i do not think that would be the strongest thing to hold him - i cannot see any other club giving him the empire he has at VP

From coaches to tea lady everyone is hand picked by SUE for a specific task - all of that set up is allowing the ringmaster to create his magic .

This is our strongest position.

It feels remarkable to have him.
It feels remarkable to have given him what must surely be a unique mix of challenge (indeed he’s now made the job worthy of him) , resources, and control. The genius after getting him, is getting him so embedded with the people who he wanted and needed and much more.

The player spotting/value for money transfers, working with and improving what you’ve got is the polar opposite of the O’Neill buy high, sell low, change your mind on who you brought in.

It’s odd to feel he has everything he could want and there is no sense of ceiling.

So I can’t see him choosing to go elsewhere for years, but there is inherent responsibility to succession plan if only in case of accident/illness, though I can see the argument of is it worth it.

Just what a time to be a Villa fan.

I can't see him managing another club in England and like you, I see him here for years. He's recently signed a new 5 year contract so there's commitment on both sides. Man U can dream, as can everybody else but Emery is emotionally tied to the club now. I said when we first got him he needs to be loved and loved he is by everybody associated with Aston Villa.

Outside of England only Barca and Real Madrid could have a chance of getting him and it won't be now. I half expect Pep to return to Barca at some point and I don't see Unai wanting to work under the dictatorship of mafia boss, Florentino Pérez. Spanish national team? Maybe in 2029 at the end of his contract here.

As for us having a contingency plan, somewhere at Villa Park, in a dark room, in a big, heavy safe is probably a piece of paper with the word 'Amorim'. He's the only coach I see who has the potential to follow Unai. What makes me laugh is the Plastics think he would leave Sporting to join them when they sack Eric ten Hag. They really are a delusional lot. Almost as funny as them thinking Unai would leave us to join their circus. Tossers!

Bah...why even speculate about other Managers and who to get after Unai.

Unai Emery should be the first Manager in PL to simply get Tenure.
Lets just do what no other club have ever done and give him Tenure.

A supreme Judge can be an Idiot and still get Tenure. (least in USA)
A University Professor can get Tenure.
Why not a Fotball Generous ?  ;D
