Emery's barely been linked to any of the many the available jobs this summer. The clubs, including Goldstein's United, and the press know the answer in advance from both Villa and the man who has just inked a new 5-year-bad-boy.

Foxtrot Oscar.

That extension he signed a couple of weeks back closed all the doors. This one just gets so many opposition supporters looking on and complaining why their club isn't run like Villa. Which is a fair point.

Get in! I just hope Unai's taking a good, well deserved break as it's not just the players who get knackered. Exhaustion can also be mental not just physical and the way he works it appears like he never switches off. I do worry for him. I want him to see out his new contract.

He’s probably watching videos of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton in preparation.

Amazing news, delighted. That there is such a big signal of our intent on the pitch for the rest of this decade.

Someone in the non-Villa media praised the great man for not making excuses about injuries (unlike the chap at Man Utd). I thought it was only noticed by us. (Barry Glendenning on the Guardian podcast)

He is 100% watching videos of players & analysing games.

100%... Proper workaholic...

Like most of us he’ll be watching the Euros and analysing players he already has his eye on. Don’t think he’s the type who can switch off for more than a week.

He's not going to be influenced too much by the Euros I should think.

He's probably continually rewatching DVDs of some New Zealand league side's last three seasons at the moment, purely because someone said they've got a decent left back.

What a guy.

If only we’d backed Bruce in the same manner.
Bruce did his job , stabilised the club, steadied the ship , made some excellent signings and moved on when he could give no more. Always appreciate his work.

He didn’t leave voluntarily. He got fired because we were shit. I will always be grateful for the penalty miss by Whelan. He’s a hero in my eyes. As are all the Fulham team from the previous years playoff final.

He did extensively scout Scott Hogan.
