Nailed on Gary Lineker’s opening line tonight will be ‘Good Ebening’ the big eared twat.

I don’t think he’ll say it again after getting ratiod the way he was when he tweeted it.

A real hero of mine as a kid, banging in all them World Cup goals etc. Such a disappointment now that the bloke is such a fucking arse hole.
It was misjudged but I feel he tweeted in with affection as opposed to malice.  In-fact I think a lot of the tweets sharing the compilation were done so as they found it endearing, not quite apreciating that it became a bit of a nasty trope towards the end of his tenure at Arsenal.

I agree with you on this. Jug-ears probably didn't think it through and would probably agree that taking the piss out of someone who is speaking English with a foreign accent is out of order.

What a video! Love seeing all the subs go crazy when we score. Think they did a couple of these vids early-on under Gerrard but they weren't a patch on this for entertainment.

Was no point in doing it for Gerrard.  The camera wouldn't move and we could watch him plot who he was going to throw under a bus this week.

It might be the PT in me but I would love to see his step count after a game.

I'm massively excited by Emery and think it's a superb appointment.

But for self preservation I think we need to be careful about getting too carried away.  This team took Brentford apart three weeks ago.

It felt like Emery did everything right, but as he said, we have a lot of work to do and I suspect it could be a bit of a rollercoaster.

This felt very different to Brentford. That day was about throwing off the shackles, putting round pegs in round holes and getting a 10-15% bump from the team as a result.

Yesterday was us out thinking them and making them play where we wanted them to. Ten Haag moaned about them putting in too many crosses and not being part of the plan they had but they did it because that was the only place we let them have space in our 3rd.

They did try to overload us a few times but not only did we fix that by bringing McGinn on to block the main route of it but also we caught them out for our third by letting them over-commit and then punishing them for not getting back quick enough.

We've played reasonably well at home for most of the past 12 months without getting the results. I think this was mainly down to Gerrard having only one way to play & when teams sussed it he wasn't able to change.

The test for Emery will be our away performances & how we react to going a goal down. We've been dreadful away from home for the best part of 2 seasons. Long before Gerrard arrived.

I'm confident we're now in good hands.

It’s enjoyable to be excited about having a genuinely top class manager, who we know has a clue tactically. Beating Manure in the first game is a spectacular, history bashing, start.

He certainly covered more ground than Ronaldo.

This is great: https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1589593237202915329?t=bJjfUKDttGorxJqlWs_6cg&s=19.

A thing of beauty
Absolutely enjoyed that, the full version. He actually plays the match.

Agreed so entertaining

Love that

Not in any way casting aspersions on previous incumbents, because every one of our managers has done what they think is right and 100% wanted to succeed, but you can see from that his passion and clear understanding of the nuances of the game.

I've no doubt things won't be plain sailing and we'll have some tough times, but this feels like one of those rare occasions when you encounter someone who absolutely knows what they're doing - and who knows they know what they're doing.

And that is glorious.
