Interesting Subbuteo fact.
The Guy who invented it was a bird spotter. Subbuteo Subbuteo is the Latin name of a British Bird of prey called a Hobby.  So he thought he’d call his game Subbuteo as it was a new Hobby.

Close, but not quite. The story goes that he wanted to trademark the game as The Hobby, but it was thought that was too broad a name for someone to own the trademark.

So when he was told no on "The Hobby" he called it Subbuteo instead, which is the bird's Latin name.

I guess it's possible that both versions are apocryphal though.

Buteo Buteo is the Common Buzzard.
Thanks for the correction.
We have masses of Buzzards around here in this part of Hampshire.
We get a special treat too when we see a Golden Eagle sometimes on a Sunday.  The Buzzards are here all the time along with a few Red Kites. We have a Sparrow Hawk which is frequently pulling apart its catch in our garden.
The Golden Eagle is the best though. . Of course it’s not a wild one. It is flown by the Hawk Conservancy. We live quite close to them

Anyway which result is best here from an Anyone But Portugal perspective?
Draw as both these teams are capable of  going through at CR7's expense.

Am I on Boing!Boing!Boing? Some real Bitters in here today. With the exception of CRTwat there's plenty to like about this Portugal side.

There's Bruno Fernandes as well.  But you're right, that Portugal side is about as strong - man for man - as pretty much any side in the tournament.

For the first time ever I want Cliff Richards to have a great game purely to get up the 'Noses of the Newton Heath fans now he's left.

Portugal's kits is very Star Trekky.

Ghana definitely win on the kit front, you could get married in that, it's virginal.

Don't forget that loveable rogue Pepe is on the bench. Anyway, was in with the Ghanaian fans for the 1996 Olympic quarter-final against Brasil. Nice bunch of lads plus their kit is nicer than Portugal's this tournament.

I thought the Uruguay-South Korea was a good watch, for a 0-0.
Murphy seemed intent on talking sown the Koreans at every juncture. He truly is a turd. And as for the comment about hitting the woodwork, well ...

**lost-for-words**
I personally think he is closet racist and dislikes the fact that the most west European teams are full of players of black origin. And he really is a thick ******.
