As long as he's getting regular game time there's a chance someone will want him in the summer.

Yep, he'll want game time himself and doesn't get much here, and hopefully he will do well and increase his value.

I forgot the Euros are this summer too. I don't know how guaranteed his place is but it's a little extra motivation to do well over the next few months. Which all hopefully combines to get us a bit of cash in the summer.

Our subs bench is going to have three goalies on it at this rate.

Heck has probably got an eye on one of those places as a GA++ offering.

£3,000 for all you can eat pick and mix and chips plus replace Calum Chambers on the bench.

This gave me a good chuckle.

Good luck to him it’s a nice move for him. It’s very odd from us though, I get he’s not likely to play but our squad is very thin. Hopefully it allows us to strengthen elsewhere.

A strange signing really, but I wish him luck.

Of course it fucking is.  As you well know as you've been all over every thread where we've been discussing exactly that for the last few months.

He did a job as cover I suppose.

Ultimately, I doubt we were ever pleased to see him come on. He didn't offer anything much and I'd rather see Iroegbunam come on, a youngster offers hope and promise, a star signing offers some wow.

If it's a choice between Dendoncker & Iroegbunam, it's Iroegbunam every day of the week & twice on Tuesday for me.

Even being a "naive" young player, his athleticism is far superior to that of Dendoncker & the biggest benefit is that he likes to drive forward with the ball at his feet at pace, similar to Kamara. (And to a lesser extent Jacob Ramsey, just from deeper).

So he is the natural choice for me & it's a positive sign that we are looking to a youth player when they look like they can offer the team more than an experienced player.

My concern after the summer fire sale of youngsters was that they would become merely chips in the FFP / P&S game of poker against the status quo clubs.

Hopefully this move signals that is not going to be the case for all youngsters...

I don't think anyone will remember his Villa career with much fondness although he did play in that Newcastle game last season. Seems bizarre we might end up with a smaller squad after this window

Didn't work out - don't think they style suite him the way it does Kamara and Luiz (and most of the others).

Good luck - no ill will.

I think he was brought in to challenge Kamara (who hadn't kicked a ball for us at that point) and/or Dougie for that deeper-lying midfielder slot.  Which wasn't a bad move in all honesty, but no one could have predicted how well those two have developed in the last 18 months.   He hasn't done a "bad" job for us, he's just not been given much of a chance because the guy ahead of him has been SO good.

There have been plenty of worse signings in recent years, and I'm sure he could still do a good job for someone at a pretty high level. Hopefully his loan goes well and get can get a few quid for him in the summer.

It'll soon be three subs on the bench...and two of them will be keepers :)

'Donk' sounds like the Neapolitan word for 'I give' ('Dong', pronounced like it looks in pure Walsall accent, hard g at the end). A problem, as giving the ball is basically the thing he finds hardest.

But good luck to him. There are creative players he can play behind there, basically giving Zielinski, Kvara etc fewer defensive worries. I imagine that's the idea.
