The least memorable debut I’ve ever seen.  I definitely saw him come on, but genuinely can’t remember a single thing other than that.

He won a defensive header in front of the dug out, didnt jump mind. Not a lot to make a judgement on but he didnt look the most mobile midfielder we have.

I know I shouldn't prejudge a player by the sound of their surname, there's really no basis for it whatsoever, but sometimes I find I just can't help myself.

Let’s bump this guy up the thread. Had his debut last night, peoples thoughts?
Crap.

Haha. I'm trying hard not to laugh, but I thought exactly the same. We are so impatient, mate. How can we be more understanding?? Haha

He’s huge. I’m sure he’ll come good when he’s trained a bit more but he looked a bit off the pace when he came on, to put it politely.

Yeah he did  look noticeably bigger than the usual Hobbits we have in midfield. Didn't notice him do a great deal, but would prefer him in a screening role.

It felt like he was playing to instruction last night when came on, quite regularly found himself close to Ashley Young as if his job was to help shore up that side after the Southampton subs came on.  He does look a big unit for a midfielder, so certainly gives us a bit more physicality.

He's not a bad player, but I'm not sure he's good enough to be a regular in our eleven when everyone is fit.

I wasn't sure he was completely match fit last night and barely touched the ball. I think it us fair to say he has a higher ceiling for improvement.

Chicago was already cursing him that fateful deadline day when the player made a first-class train journey from Wolverhampton to New Street.

He was born in Passchendaele.
We actually have a good track record with midfielders whose birthplace was the site of famous historic battles.
