Gerrard is getting an incredibly easy ride by ex-players. Dublin and James Collins basically defending him on the basis that he's young and is gonna make a great manager. No worries, then!

Keown, and Chris Sutton, were very critical of our tactics. But the team organisation is just so poor. Spaces everywhere...full back to centre back, the defensive line, Kamara to the other two midfielders, front 3 and midfield. Watkins and the two narrow forwards. No wonder we can't keep the ball, there's no cohesion at all with and without the ball.

Martinez 3 - at fault for two goals and hiding on line again.
Cash 5 - average defender at this level and regressing going forward. Awful defending for their winner
Konsa 6 - bullied by Jesus for that yellow but was decent in the main
Mings 6 - solid enough for me
Digne 4 - rubbish defender and a terrible signing. Bullied by Saka. Mugged off buying him
Kamara 6 - battled hard I thought but the midfield unit sunk
Ramsey 6 - probably a 3 in first half, unable to track runners and their first came from that but much better second half
McGinn 5 - tried hard first half but anonymous second bar his yellow
Buendia 4 - shite, kept giving ball away
Watkins 6 - same as Ramsey, vastly improved second half
Bailey 6 - some really smart touches at times but needs to do a lot more

Coutinho was ok when he came in on the left, Luiz scored a corner and trotted around avoiding tackles
I watched the 1st half with Italian commentary as a  novel idea i made a note on moments
my notes show , 15 mins Mings hesitated, Arsenal guy beat him could have been a goal
24 mins Mings hoofed out for no reason
Goal Konsa/Martinez gifted it
39 mins Mings and Martinez fucked up again
Second half found English commentary , stopped making notes
An overall 5 for me for most, I think the 6 for Mings was generous.

Not really sure how Konsa was to blame for first. Ramsey didn't track I think it was Xhaka's run down that right channel so he went to him. Maybe he could have played offside, which we don't seem to do any more, but with no pressure on pass always risky. Mings maybe could have been sharper to the rebound but Martinez should be dealing with that easily. Thought Mings cleared a lot of ball next to a clueless left back, granted last ditch stuff.

All season, it has been far too easy for opposition midfielders to get at our centre backs. Why Gerrard sticks with this 3 in midfield I'll never know. Deano did the same when we first came up with the "2 8s" and we used get rinsed most games. At least he eventually changed it and shifted Grealish to the left.

Just read McGinn’s post-match interview with the BBC.. says it isn’t the managers fault and things don’t turn overnight. I thought Konsa usually does the interviews?

Good to hear the players are still engaging with supporters.
Hopefully it doesn’t change.

The highlight for me was just not to have to watch it, to be honest.

Up at 6:30am, game had finished, checked score, was relieved it wasn't a massacre, and then had a cup of tea.

There was a big gap between Buendia coming over and the others who came 30 seconds later after handshakes with the Arsenal players,

No booing, but plenty of resentment. One bloke had a sign saying “Stevie G go and ruin your own club”

I think Saturday could be a turning point if we capitulate. Anger is bubbling and there is no clear playing style

Could be bottom tomorrow evening if Leicester win. Not looking great at all either way. Of course things will change on Saturday when we show Citeh what they’ve been missing by not signing anymore of our players….only kidding of course.

I hope he didn't have any milk, Japanese people think dairy is weird and smelly, I've heard. Possibly from Axl...

Might be one for "Other Games" but just seen the West Ham-Spurs highlights on MOTD. A handball incident very similar to Digne at Palace but more blatantly a penalty but not given. Conte nearly lost his wig over the decision.

My former next door neighbour was a professor of genetics and anthropology. When I lived in Shanghai he was invited to lecture at one of the universities there.

I got the shorthand version of his research in the pub after and he said that as a geneticist the absence of dairy to incorporating it in the diet of tens of millions of Chinese ( middle class Chinese have fallen for coffee shops in a big way, partly the drinks, partly the hanging out lifestyle) was a massive focus of interest for academics.

Aye, but black or green, Pat?

I knew a lad whose family were from Kilkenny. Instead of milk and/or sugar, he had his tea with whiskey and butter, and said it was a family tradition.

Weirdo.
