Leicester City weren't even the most unlikely winners of a title in 2016

No, that was Donald Trump.

Smith was given no slack after losing Greasy and then Bailey, Ings and Buendia being out for a variety of reasons, I presume the same applies to Gerrard, or should he get some slack with Kamara and Carlos being injured?

It'll certainly be top of the list of excuses if the results don't come, we'll be tearing our hair out and the pundits will throw it at us at every turn.

Carlos is arguably the one that has the most impact because his impact is still an unknown. Kamara as impressive as he has been, has made little difference so far to our performances or results but it is early days.

Think SG future is now based on results from a small group of games

EG Leeds and Forest next two
Win neither of them and end up being on 7 point from 9 games or 9 from 9 games and he's toast imo

He's safe until the World Cup I reckon.

No. At the end of the day, injuries are part & parcel of the game. It's of course unfortunate that the injuries all seem to be new signings, but that's the breaks.

It's impossible to give an anwser to that as we don't know the owners' mindset. It could be that they take that into consideration if he was to finish say, 14th again. If he loses the next four games on the trot, he'd almost certainly be sacked though, injuries or not.

We have the 7th highest wage bill in the league. We ought to be at least 7th in the table. That we aren't is down to the manager.

…and the players.

I actually think the players have been pretty obedient to be honest. They follow the tactical plan to the letter despite it not suiting (m)any of the players. Ramsey and McGinn retreating to cover the fullbacks is completely against their instincts (and what they’re good at) but they do it nonetheless.

The fact that Gerard makes out that his tactics are too complicated for the players doesn’t exactly encourage a free flowing natural game either.

If Southgate is the alternative, IN.

Southgate is a monumental wankshaft.

Sadly, that is exactly the sort of bone-headed appointment we'd make.

Southgate won't be available until at least 2024. If Gerrard is still in charge at that time, he will have done well.

I really don't see that.

Southgate wouldn't get a job in the Premier League, which says a lot about why probably the best crop of players we've had in 60 years is being wasted on a Championship at best level dud, ahead of an odd World Cup we should be very competitive in.

On a recent performances Southgate could be getting sacked in December.
