More virtue signaling.

If you're going to virtue signal over anything whatsoever, a competition in a repressive, anti-gay, anti-woman state which has seen hundreds of almost slave-labourers go to their death, and which bought the competition in the first place is it.

How long have they been making the national team's kits? Surely the thing to do, given how none of what happens in Qatar has or does come as surprises, was to protest through or before the qualifiers. Personally, I think it's brazen profiteering.

It'll be a statement of dissent.

We're talking about it now, which is exactly the effect it is supposed to have.

Assuming you're a fan of socking it to the gays and other deviants by the sound of it.

I will leave it there.

I'd say the chances of Poch ending up at Wolves are even lower than they are of him being Villa manager.

Seems sensible enough...

West Brom women change shorts colour to navy because of period concerns - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63080111

And... very much not sensible. UEFA being absolute idiots as usual.

Uefa confirms it does not allow concussion subs after confusion over Beth Mead head injury - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63079713

Not entirely sure what the objection to Denmark and Hummel is. Do you think countries should just boycott Qatar, or man up and get on with it, a bit like we do when selling arms and torture devices/important security equipment to hateful regimes? Is the only choice  boycott or button it?

DBU (the Danish FA) have come out today with a "nothing to do with us guv" type statement about Hummel's design and statement but are still happily selling the shirt for 600kr.

I don't expect teams to boycott, that's a big ask. I confess though, I don't really understand the Hummel action. They seem to be protesting by making it so that their logo is still on the shirt but you have to strain your eyes a bit to see it. Fair enough I suppose it has got people talking about human rights abuses in Qatar. However, Hummel sponsor clubs in places hardly synonymous with peace, love and tolerance such as Algeria, Oman and Uganda. So... it isn't the most convincing campaign IMO.
