Walking around Concert Square, the pubs and the central bars are all rammed, with the exception of McCoolys, the Irish chain bar with 6 Irish flags on display.

Rangers fans also swerving O'Neils to go in the Empire over the road.

All I can hear is "Hallo, Hallo..." at the moment.

Friends up there say they are hearing Hillsborough songs.

In today's Daily Mail they have listed the 14 players, who have scored the most goals in an English top flight season. The great Pongo Waring is 2nd in 1930-31 with 49 goals, 1st of course is Dixie Dean 60 goals in 27-28. There are only 3 players from the post war period, Jimmy Greaves joint 7th with 41 goals in 60-61 and joint 10th with 38 goals, Dennis Westcott 46-47 and John Charles 56-57.

It's not a very fun quiz if you give the answers! ☹️

I was having a mooch at lunch and couldn't understand a word half of them were saying. I did hear one come out with the line "all the pubs round here are Irish, the fucking Fenian bastards".

Lots of Scousers have sold their tickets on to them, including lads in my department.

I wouldn't believe any if the shite you read on Twitter. There's lots of bollocks about Irish bars taking their flags down. Are they fuck. There are six flying outside McCoolys all year around and even with a 1000 Rangers fans in the square.

Well Dean was listed twice, so there are 8 other players in the list all pre war. For those who know their football history, I think you might be able to name 2 of them, but would be surprised if you knew anymore. So it is a pretty rubbish quiz, but feel free to have a go if you want.

I'm thinking Steve Bloomer and a famous Middlesbrough bloke whose name I've forgotten. I'm assuming Happy Harry Hampton and John Devey aren't on the list or you would have mentioned them...

I'm pretty sure I would have got Dean, Waring and Greaves! Didn't realise John Charles was so prolific, no wonder he couldn't wait to leave shitey Leeds.

Ted Drake would be my guess. It won't be anyone from the very early days as the league was smaller.

Had forgotten Arsenal. Ted Drake may be correct, perhaps Cliff Bastin.

I shamefully forgot Billy Walker but, again, assume he isn't on the list.

I think late twenties/early thirties is the era we are probably looking for as everyone scored millions of goals as defences failed to adjust to them changing the offside rule (from two defenders plus a goalie to one defender plus a goalie).

No Villa players and not Bloomer or Bastin, apart from one they are all in the 20s or 30s.

The Middlesbrough player I can't remember is annoying me. I'm thinking Steve Marriott but that's the bloke from the Small Faces.
