How imaginative, I wouldn’t expect anything less.

He finally puts in a man of the match performance.
He’s suffered a terrible injury and been pretty mediocre for a long long time. Hopefully, this can be the start of something.

Excellent today and perhaps the kind of performance that made us shell out all that money for him.

Well done - long may it continue and credit to Emery who must have seen something in him to persevere with the Carlos at CB and Konsa at RB selection.

Again another one who improved with McGinn sitting in front of him defensively. The whole side of that pitch had pretty much been told to be tighter which even included Diaby back and helping out, which is probably why he wasn't as good offensively. But the second half tactical changes, especially when their players started to get frustrated and Baileys reputation meant they could free more going forward, especially when Zinchenko started to be shit.

He was very good yesterday. He even showed a bit of pace when needed something I was convinced he didn’t have. If he keeps up the same form in our remaining games I will have no complaints. Easily his best game for us in half a handful of decent games.

His best game for Villa by a large distance. The kind of performance I'd hoped he would give since he joined.

I think McGinn playing next to Tielemans was much better than Luiz next to Tielemans. McGinn has got much more tenacity than Doug, and provided a bit more solidity for the defence. Carlos looked a lot happier, any road.

Possible interest from Milan: https://twitter.com/AVFC_espanol/status/1783810427966652604

I gotta admit im not against selling him if  agood offer comes in. At 31 he has been up and down but was superb vs arsenal. Also does seem to pick up injuries. I do think carlos is soneone that we could replace.

In his Bein interview Unai mentioned several times that we need to keep improving and moving forward.

So logically any and all of our squad could be moved on if it benefits the club.

If we decide to move Diego on, then his departure will have been carefully considered and we can be certain that any replacement will be an upgrade.

Big earner and not done enough for me overall.

The Tim Vickery comments, as usual, are spot on.

We sold Platt years ago and used the proceeds to win a couple of trophies.  Whilst we'd like to keep the likes of Ollie and Luiz, and of course many others in the squad, if selling them leads to glory days, so be it.  Unai will have carefully considered who can go and who he is capable of bringing in.  I trust Unai and Monchi.

For me Ollie must stay at all costs, Luiz not so much.

There's far more examples of it going tits up after selling our best players for big money than there are of it working out well.
