I went to many of the above games including being in the 8,456 gate against Southampton (1986) but its the 2000 Cup final which eclipses the 2015 one for me, we had a better side than the latter one and it was a day which promised so much but delivered so little, and instead of Chelsea fans celebrating their win they were picking fights afterwards.

Any football fan must have a long list, thankfully I have forgotten most of the dross
For heart aching, lost first game at home at start of Doc season, 1-0 Norwich , it was not what the script said
League cup Final Spurs
Cup final Chelsea, travelled a long way for that one and had high hopes
Enckelman game
Dion nutting Savage game
Arsenal Cup Final, Embarrassing
Now I have started i could go on, but rather look forward to next season

2015 FA cup final just edges the Bradford debacle for me. That said, it takes a special kind of shiteness to lose to a 4th division side over 180 minutes

I forget the year.  Against Leicester away.  Pissing torrential freezing rain.  Forced by coppers and stewards to stand under fucking great holes in the roof of Filbert Street.  Ultimately compounded historically by Leicester being allowed to walk away from all the debt and the legacy of their poxy ruin of a stadium and reemerge all lovely and shiny and brand new.

And the gum spitting game at Wycombe when Richards confirmed his status as a guffawing, brain dead imbecile.

Another Leicester away game. First match of the 97/98 season, we'd just signed Collymore and expectations were high. I was living in Leicester at the time, and worked in an office full of Leicester fans who were massively bitter at Brian Little's departure. We played like drains, the front three didn't click at all and we lost 1-0. There was loads of trouble in Leicester afterwards as well. The next home game, the 4-0 home defeat to Blackburn wasn't too clever either, and led me to believe that perhaps signing Stan Collymore wasn't the last piece of a title-winning jigsaw after all.

Oldham 3-0 Aston Villa - FA CUP QTR FINAL 1990

I think that would have to be my worst game too. Topped off by Villa fans scrapping with each other throughout the match

Unfortunately there have been a few down the years but one that springs to mind is in the 88/89 season at home v Charlton  a truly awful game which we lost 1-0 with an absolutely shocking Charlton winner. Still have nightmares about it

I went to that game with the flu, could only last until half time. I used to get the bus in those days so the match had finished by the time I got home so I walked into my Mom and Dads house to hear the result being read out on Final Score.

That was my 19th birthday. We bought party poppers, hats the lot. My mate couldn't get out of work early so arrived at half time. When the 3rd went in we all left en masse so he spent about 25 minutes in the ground. Two of us cadged a lift home with him and he couldn't recall where he had parked so we ended up walking around some housing estate searching for the car and bickering with each other.

My first ever season ticket able to purchase due to my own footballing injury, half decent seat in the Lower Holte, extremely excited on the coach with the SW Lions, just signed Collymore, smart new kit, losing 4-0 to Blackburn.

Absolutely deflated on the coach on the way home.

The club might give that 40th anniversary a swerve.

Too many to mention really but just to join in then fun: that cup defeat away to West Ham still rankles, the season we got relegated to the third division saw us lose 5-0 away to Sheffield United.  We were doing ok and were at 0-0 come half-time despite iirc them having one disallowed.  I was thinking, naively, that if we could hang on for the same in the second half it would be great point towards survival, what happend? We folded like a pack of cards in a gale force wind.

Another worthy mention was away to Preston which may have been the same season, pissing down with rain and barely crossed the half-way line, about six or seven minutes into stoppage time Preston had another attack and despite the ball being clearly out of play that cheating c**t of a referee Pat Partridge allowed them to play on from which they scored.

Twats of referees is not a new phenomenon.j
