Versus Santos in 1972.

Was only about 3 foot tall at the time. My nose got stuck in the crack of blokes arse standing in front of me and missed Pele altogether.

The view was like being at St Andrews.

In the later years of the Lerner era, jamming your nose up someone's arse could have been considered an upgrade on actually watching the match!

Chelsea FA Cup Final 0-1 - all my life wanted to see Villa win the Cup. Pre-match was great and then the game happened. Possibly the most dour Cup Final ever.

It was so long ago... But I remember that day, too. I sometimes watch it over and over again: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2kg652

I'm guessing you're to young to remember the Spurs Chelsea Cup Final of 1967.  Over hyped pre match build-up being the first all-London cup final.  I paid a fiver off a tout when cost price was probably only a Quid or even less.  It was the greatest load of shite that nobody but the supporters of both sides really gave a fuck about.  I only went with a mate as we were down in London for a weekend on the piss and had nothing better to do until the night life opened up.  I shudder to think what it would have been like had Sky and social media been around then.

The lowest I remember feeling was Lambert's first home game against Everton. I left at 0-3, the only time I've left a game early, because it was toxic in the Lower Holte. The first game of a new season should be a time of hope, but there was just anger everywhere, and because Lambert was brand new it was unfocused anger, flying in all directions.

Losing at home to Watford during the relegation season was grim, but I think I was resigned to it by that point.

And yet we played well with 10 men in 2nd half.

2015 FA Cup final.  Made me want to defecate into my own hands and throw it at Tactics Tim. Only the second time i've walked out of a Villa game before the final whistle - the first was the infamous Hodge game v Norwich

Few too many to mention. That Arsenal game (who were mid table bollocks at the time) on Easter Monday (I think) April 1995 was pretty bad.

0.4 - Absolutely pissed down rained horizontally and sat near the front of the Upper Holte.

Totally abject.

Arsenal game, during the lambert era. I was flying over with a friend  and his brother on the morning of the game,  but on the Thursday my pal rang to say he couldn't find his passport so he ended up booking a second flight so he could travel with his drivers license. We all get to the airport and go our separate ways,  only to get a call from my pal to say that he had missed his flight as had mistaken a ticket less flight for one he didn't have to check in for. A normal person  might give up then,  but he books onto a flight at 210, landing at 3 for a 3 kick off, taxi straight to vp, making it right at half time when we were already 3 down and the worst second half of football imaginable.
The best part was ripping the piss out of him in the pub afterwards.

On the criteria chosen by Mr Russell I would go for Villa v Ipswich in 1976. A dreary 0-0 snooze fest by two inept teams. The game was so tepid that the main talking point was a flock of pigeons encamped on the pitch in the second half, a fact picked up by the Evening Mail.

In a similar vein mine is probably Wimbledon away at Plough Lane in Oct. 1990, a sparsely attended 0-0 draw. My only memory is two drunk blokes down at the front singing "Jozef Venglos' claret & blue army" for 90 mins much to the bemusement of the solitary copper watching.

Ha. Yes I went to that and it was fucking terrible. The tickets were quite expensive for the time if I remember correctly and you got to sit on a wooden bench with lines drawn. It was a bastard of a journey on the coach and the game was absolutely cack. I know it was around the time of the 2-0 Inter game though which was one of the best.

In addition to the Oldham FA Cup quarter final 1990 there was 0-0 against Leeds in January 1995 (I think) when it was absolutely freezing sitting near the front of the newly rebuilt Holte. So cold in fact that it was pointed out that the lips of one of our number had started to turn blue.

Bradford in the semi was tough but I'd have to go for Man City away under MON.  I think we lost 2-0 and I knew that the top 4 chance had been lost, probably for the foreseeable.  Also, Spurs away under McLeish.  Absolutely embarrassing non-attempt to win a football match and the Spurs fans were ****s.
