Considering it’s been the general consensus for several weeks that Burnley were the second coming and that it was inevitable they would beat us home and away I’m delighted with thus result.

Slight criticism: Martinez needs to improve his distribution.

I mentioned that in the Match thread. His kicking is usually superb but today every ball seemed to go straight back to a Burnley player.

Dougie was poor with his passing and dodged countless tackles in the first half. That said he was a different player in the second half.

Emi's ball for Ings and SJM's cross for Ollie were the highlights of the game. Pure quality. Mings led by example.

Our fans were brilliant and why wouldn't they be after a few beers, a sunny day and a very hard working Villa team that pressed the life out of Burnley.

Only slight criticism was how we finished the game; very sloppy for the last 15-20 minutes instead of really punishing them as they collapsed after the 3rd goal. Practice makes perfect but I'll forgive them if we smash Red Scouse in the week.

I dont thinknwe were sloppy bar the goal. We strangled the life out of the game after 70 minutes.

I had us down for a 3-1 but was being optimistic in all honesty. Well pleased with that, Burnley are down there for a reason, but still they’ve been on a good run.
Looks like last chance saloon for Liverpool with title bid after tonight, so going to be a cracking game Tuesday, decisions for Gerrard after Beundias performance today

Depending on how fit Marv is, I would have brought him on today instead of Chuck, incase he is needed for any of the remaining games, esp against Liverpool.

Nice win today  😁

Gets rid of all doubts about relegation now.  Really pleased with the win.  I didn't watch the game as I was otherwise engaged but really chuffed that we seem to have turned a corner.  Looking forward to the summer transfer window.

I know nothing about FV bar being a poster on H&V.  I don't know why he should be afforded more leeway to talk a load of old toot on here than anyone else. One moment he's complimenting a proposed line up minus Buendia and then post match he's telling us he's an essential starter.  I think he needs to take stock on the way he graces us with his pearls of wisdom. That's all.

He/she is posting here to express themselves. A really good thing about the internet is that anyone from anywhere can join in about their favourite topic. Unless the post is actually offensive, scroll on.

People don't really do that anywhere else on here or with anyone else though.

Shut up you twat!!

I hope he doesn’t drop Buendia on Tuesday.

But the Villa boss made it clear after the game he wants to keep the player and explained he did not start Coutinho because he wanted fresh legs for Tuesday's home game against his former club Liverpool.

"We want Philippe Coutinho here," added Gerrard. "We have got five games in a short pace of time and the same players cannot go Saturday-Tuesday all the time."

Keep looking up now, played very well today.

Suspect Phil for Emi 2 vs Liverpool

Chuck did a good job when he came on so would be good if he signs up finally, may go for more money elsewhere though.

Thought Ings and Watkins were both excellent today. That was really encouraging.

Don't worry,  it's Dirty Leeds who will go.
