He's got to give Coutinho and Buendia a run of games together.

Did Dean get the warm reception he deserved?

Yes. Loudly applauded with the Holte chanting his name.
Good to hear, as expected and deserved

How did Bailey play? I’ve not seen him justify his continued selection. Was today any different?
he didn’t play badly today, but then, Norwich were there to be got at. He just looks in general to be a bit out of his depth at this level and certainly not worth, comparatively, what we paid for him. He still might come good, but it doesn’t look likely to me. Maybe punt him out on loan to Norwich next season and see if Deano can get a tune out of him.

Who the fuck was that player who came on at Everton and tore a hole in their back four before doing the same in his own hamstring? That day I thought we’d signed a world beater.

You've used the word 'felt' so often it sounds weird in my head now! ;)

Edited now. One thing I did feel and forgot to mention, was pretty sad about Deano clapping him at the end.

Shame you can't Sky+ record life, as I'd batter those 10 weeks of us going on that run in 2019. From Adomah at Stoke to 97+ at Wembley. I hope we go onto greater things, my mates sharing posts of us in Vienna 12 years ago being an obvious thing to aspire to in the next few seasons. But I suspect when I'm old and reflecting back, that period will always be one of the best times I've had supporting this great thing of ours.

You can buy trophies, trophy players. You cant buy magic. Thank you Deano.

We don't agree too often, Ads, but that's a beautiful post.

. Although the Holte moaned when we weren't keeping the ball, then the same people moaned even more as we kept the ball late on.

Wankers should have left early instead.

Yeah but Everton fans are the whingiest, whiniest fuckers and they hate us a lot more than vice versa so fuck'em.

Amen eamonn

Most clubs hate us more than we hate them because nobody else has a sense of humour. I have no doubt I hate Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City & Rangers more than most of their fans hate us.

But the rest? Bitterness and self-regard galore.

A Newcastle fan I worked with justified her hatred of us by citing the Ant & Dec banner. "How sad and pathetic can you be? Why would you do that? Are you obsessed with us? Are you all that small-time?"

This was 2018, so a full nine years after someone hung a hand-painted sheet as a last-game-of-the-season joke. But it was still as if our entire club and fanbase had publicly spread Mike Ashley's excrement on their Jimmy Nail statue.

Me and my brother have a thing about the Villa Park moaners.

When we have the ball in midfield or defence: "FUCKIN' GET IT FORWARD!"

When we play the ball forward and, as with all teams, often lose possession: "KEEP THE FUCKING BALL!"

Wasn’t Oz a Sunderland fan? Or was that Dennis and Neville?

They went to watch Sunderland in Europe, but were all Newcastle, I believe. It was made 8 years before I was born, so I may be wrong!

All three.  Oz, Dennis and Neville were Newcastle.  Oz eventually rocked up in Middlesbrough for the third series.

And started wearing a suit and somehow shagged Bill Nighy's assistant.
