With Luis reportedly injured if Sanson does not start he never will.

I would revert back to Watkins in front of 2 x 10's

We need to play hard and fast in this game.

Arteta not confirming any injuries in his press conference.

Listen, we want Douglas to be the best version of himself. At the moment his mouth is pretty battered from West Ham's rough treatment but that'll only stop him kissing and talking. We need him to let his feet do the talking and get into areas that can hert Arsenal.

He was training in the little vid on the OS and looked perfectly ok.

Konsa and Buendia for Chambers and one of Ings/Watkins I'd say is how Gerrard will go. Their RB last night (Cedric), who I presume is a backup, looked hopeless v Liverpool. If he starts again we need to target him. Saka v Young could be a big mismatch alright. Switch McGinn from the right of Luiz to the left of him I think.

Re Konsa and Buendia, I think you might be right. I'd like to see Sanson get a start though and I can't see him changing too many players.

Re Cedric, Bailey or Traore should definitely get some minutes against him.

Yep this might be the changes made and team too, Ings to drop out for this one, Watkins might want to show Arsenal a thing or two maybe?
Tough game, but im not going to VP with any kind of trepidation, we can beat these.
2-1 (Coutinhio, Watkins)

If Luiz is out, then I can see this...

                  Martinez
Cash   Konsa      Mings       Young
                 McGinn
      Buendia          Ramsey
                Coutinho
     Watkins        Ings

Last time out they battered us through the middle. This line-up looks a little powder-puff.

Arsenal complaining about short time between games. Is this the same Arseanal who refused our request to put a game back by 24 hours some years ago?(just noticed the rather appropriate typo!)

We need an ability to grind out some more draws rather than alternating (generally) between wins and defeats. This is a game where I'd hope we can utilise the spells we might dominate and score a goal or two. The worry is that Arsenal counter very well, so we've got to be less sloppy in the middle of the park that we have been. Potentially this might be a game to consider the 4-3-2-1, rather than the 1-2 up top. Although Bailey was guilty of giving the ball away, he may suit a game like this. If not, Beundia and Coutinho behind Ollie who tends to do well against the Goons.
They're a very different prospect to the side we played last season that's for sure.

Ollie is a boyhood Gooner. I hope I am wrong but I don't fancy us. Plus Arsenal are going on their annual late run of good form now that the real pressure for league success is off.

It’s strange reading the comments on here. If we had played Liverpool on Wednesday night and Arsenal hadn’t had a match, everyone would be saying we’ll be knackered and they’ll be fresh. We would also be saying it’s not fair guv as the turnaround time is so short!!
Having said all that, I’d still settle for a point but, prove me wrong Villa and get all 3!!
