Just got back - what a good performance - I think we looked awesome in the final 3rd and very solid in defence.  Thought the midfield could have kept the ball a bit better but overall we’re good enough.

Little Phil is Brilliant - at times he is unplayable.  I would sign him up this evening because when he’s in your team you always have a chance, and think there will be others in for him depending on how it works.

Some of our play in the final third was excellent, probably should of had a couple more.

The confidence in Ollie is massive - he looked really good today, and maybe, just maybe Ings and Watkins could work.

Best performance under SG I would say we look better balanced today with The diamond in midfield - really like emi but Not sure if we’re better with only one “10” playing.

Was worried when I saw Ashley and Chambers starting but both hardly put a foot wrong.

Thought Bailey looked afraid to run at full speed - doesn’t look in a great place at the moment.

We’ll done SG and we’ll done Villa.

I'm pretty sure I read that they are planning to give Villa Park a facelift and increase the capacity to 50,000. I know we all love Molineux, but the appearance of the ground in it's present state pales in comparison to Villa Park which is a magnificent stadium, which any player would want to play in.

"I think they have a better keeper and Coutinho is very good and that's basically it. Konsa probably beats out our second cb too. Salisu, our fullbacks, our midfield, and Broja are miles better than what they are working with imo. Stuart Armstrong immediately improves that side and Adams is comfortably outscoring every player they have.

Combined 11 for me is

Martinez

Tino Salisu Konsa Kwp

Jwp romeu

Coutinho Armstrong

Broja Adams"

Christ, I hope we're never that deluded.

Agree about Ramsey, brilliant young player but should be given time to catch his breath. Coutinho is still coming to terms with the pace of the premiership but what an artist, we must keep him. Worried when I saw the team especially Ash at left back but he was okay. Luiz for me is still not dominant enough, JM worked hard as did both forwards.

For all Saints possession, they didn't have a chance of note until we were 4-0 up and we missed far easier chances than the ones we scored.

I can not understand how anybody can score any other player above or even level with Coutinho. He was so much better than every player on the pitch.
He was different class today. Scored 1 was involved in the other 3 could have scored 3 and set up at least another 2.
How many players are involved in 8+ scoring opportunities in a game?

Just got home from the US, and went through the match thread in the taxi to Euston rather than just check the score straight away. Prefer it that way as you get more of the feeling you get seeing it live.

When I saw the teamsheet I was a little worried, but needn't have been. What a great result, and what a difference the tactical adjustment has made in the last two games.

Have to feel sorry for Buendia, as he has been playing well but finds himself on the bench. No arguing with the decision though, as Coutinho is better and the team is playing better with just one of them.

Watkins and Ings is showing signs of being a decent partnership at last. Thought they both played well for once.

Luiz had a decent game, and scored a great goal. Not his biggest fan but credit where due, he did well today.

Chambers looked decent too.

Watching us back on Match of the Day, we looked even more devastating in the final third than I recall. Can't believe it was only 4.

So Gerrard has got a plan B . It was in the shape of a diamond midfield today.

Interesting change. It made Luiz and McGinn more effective and made Coutinho devastating at the tip of the diamond, but at least today reduced the effectiveness of JJ. But it certainly made us look a lot better. The question now is how and when do we change it to incorporate Bailey, Traore, Buendia? Good problems to have.

I wouldn't worry about player markings to be honest. They're not that important.

What do you guys do with the youths who stick a high vis on and charge you a £5 to park on the road? Normally we chuck them £5 be done with it, but were there early today before they'd rocked up, then started getting grief off one of them when we were trying to strap a little one in the car seat when we were leaving, so told the scrounging little rat to fuck off.

So probably get a big key mark down the car next time?
This doesn’t happen. No one charges £5 when people park on the road. Tell me which road and I will pass it on the the local councillor.
