I had completely forgotten about Habib Beye. I even had to google him to remind me when he was with us. What a mad signing that was.

The MON years.

One for the road . Mustapha Hadji Morocco albeit Assistant.

Was he the shit one or was that Kachloul? I vaguely remember it as being a 'buy one get one free' signing.

They both had their moments, Kachloul started off well and petered-out. Hadji had a few nice moments dotted across his time with us but ultimately both were "meh" in the John Gregory finishing 8th years.

It felt as if they were both better at Coventry

Which wasn't bad going as Kachloul never played for them.

Hadji was (the last?) one of our annual tradition of the time, where Coventry would sign a player for 50p and a Peter Beardsley sticker, then sell the same player to us for £5m or so 9 months later.

Kachloul was the first in a long tradition of Villa players on £40k-plus per week but spent a whole season never even making a squad appearance... Very much a Gregory signing, then nobody else picked him. Same agents?

Didn't we steal him from under the noses of Ipswich, which is how he ended up on that wage, we gazumped them. We did the same for Fat Ross, Norwich were about to sign him until we came bulldozing in.

'Sakes.
