Again found myself thinking Watkins isnít good enough.

An off day for sure. Thatís all Iím putting it down to. Put it this way, heís no worse than Calvert-Lewin who West Ham want.

Iím thinking the same, sure there are better forwards out there than Ollie but most are playing CL football. Heís a bit off form bit there is more to come, heíll be fine.

We seem to forget he has a newish born baby. I well remember being so tired as a new dad. Fatherhood is wonderful but can also be very demanding.

I thought he was ok first half, not as bad as some have made out and he held it up well. I do agree he lacked that killer instinct in front of goal. Should have buried that chance after such a great touch to get him into that position.

If yesterday proves anything it's we're well up for a fight, not a single passenger on the team, each and every one of them gave it their all. Considering what we faced, you can't ask more than that. Good to see we can no longer be bullied. It's been a long time coming.

I love ollie's energy and he's vital to how we play, but he's not a natural finisher, and i'm not sure if he ever will be (can that really be taught?). I'd be sticking with him for now but ultimately i fear an upgrade will be needed.

But how many off days can he have?  His finishing is woeful

As for the game, great to get the three points.  I thought we were a bit fortunate we finished our chance and they missed 3 good chances, the DCL open goal was the easiest chance in the game.

Big Dunc set up for it to be horrible and it was exactly that.

It didn't take long for Gerrard to decide that we needed an upgrade in the left back department, and if Watkins and Ings don't show a marked improvement, I think they'll be next. 5 goals at this stage of the season for a £30m striker is rubbish.

I mentioned yesterday, he's lack of technique is being exposed with better players around him. He's far better suited to balls into the box from the wings than quick one-twos through the middle. Hopefully it's something he can work on. His first touch is still letting him down so I won't be holding my breath.

However only one forward (Jota) in the Premier League is into double figures at this stage. Others Salah, Kane, Lukaku etc are on 8/9 goals.

Eh? Salah is on 16.

Ahha...bugger missed that but others who cost much more than Watkins are not exactly setting the League on fire.

I think Ollie's work rate is such that you can forgive his slightly iffy technique, although he does occasionally show great skill, so he clearly has it in him.

Strikers are judged on their goals though, otherwise you end up with another Heskey on your hands.

I don't think Watkins is anywhere near that standard of Heskey at his best.

I don't think Watkins is good enough, and if we can make our money back we should jump at it.

Good win, but a poor game, Cash again played well, waiting to see what Digne will bring to the team.

Coutinho looked miles off the pace of the game, I think the ball boy behind the goal touched the ball more than he did!
