Scotch eggs are nice, cheese and onion pasties are lovely, beef and onion pies are nice.

Scotch eggs and pork pies are in the same category for me. Warm, freshly cooked both are very solid. Cold, dry, no thank you. And neither are great reheated.

This just reminded me of the hundreds of ice cream cones with clotted cream on top that I consumed in Bude during the 80's. I think the shop was Wonnacotts, but could be wrong.

Cold Scotch eggs are one of the things I miss the most from Old Blighty (sorry TV).

No worries CT. I’m not turning my nose up at a cold one either. Just what I prefer. Same with pork pies. I only miss some things from the UK and specific foods and Villa are in that list.

We’ve got a local chef down here who makes the best scotch eggs in the world. They are to die for, he supplies Fortnum and Mason. His curry flavour is just incredible.

For me to eat a scotch egg, it would have to be warm and the yolk runny. Hard-boiled eggs are pretty much the only food I won't eat.

Lynmouth (Devon) update - we walked along to Watersmeet and back, then up the 'kin steep hill from Lynmouth to Lynton and we got the fenicular to get back down.

Then we rewarded ourselves with a couple of beers, and back to our digs for a curry and a few more beers - Mrs R is watching some nonsense on the telly, so I can watch the game online.

And no sign of Lucas. I'll be back out on the trail tomorrow. UTV

I’ve been in Exeter and Ashcombe. No sign of Lucas, although I did a double take at a blacked out Range Rover with a number plate which had hardly and letter or numbers.

I’m at a beer festival today.  Me and three mates gather every year and bring beers from different counties.  For the third year in a row I ordered four fortnum and mason scotch eggs.  They turn up in perfect condition complete with ‘jam’ yolk on the inside.
