Coutinho comes across so humble and down to earth, he is a breath of fresh air

Aye, considering what he's done in the game and the clubs he's played for, there doesn't seem to be any conceit with him.

After his debut v Man U, he was more comfortable bigging up Jacob Ramsey than talking about himself. The players like him and - despite the so-so results this season - it still seems to be a united dressing room. Unlike some of the cliques we've had in the past.

It's also incredibly rare to see a player so universally loved by the fans of the clubs he's LEFT.  I've yet to see anyone from Liverpool, Barca or Bayern have anything bad to say about him.

Maybe they each have their own individual training pitches

Haha Iíve always thought that. Like they are all waiting at the security gates to get on the pitch first and nobody ever wants to leave. I imagine the staff are all looking at their watches ďitís time to leave ladsĒ and all of them are adamant at being the last one off

The pitch is a place in the players psyche, in his id. He may still be on the pitch when leaving training. On the training pitches of the mind.

Steven Gerrard: ďPhilís very approachable. Our office looks down on the gym & the young players are always in his ear. Jacob, Tim, Carney, little young Tommy OíReilly. I see him & heís always got time for them all.
Heís first on the training pitch, last off, in the gym before training, in the gym after training, diet is immaculate. If youíre a young kid at Aston Villa you should be really tapping into that & really trying to emulate a lot of his habitsÖĒ

How come he canít finish a match then? Iíd try something different and get him on the Pot Noodles and Iron Bru.

Bravo!

This is the deep philosophical insight I come to H&V for.
