As long as they weren't shunted out to a Travelodge in Telford or Tamworth. We've learned from John Paul Angel's time and his mistreatment by the club upon his signing.

Things have moved on since those days, I think it was Wenger that innovated with metropolitan Travelodges first, and reasonable access to discounted retail outlets. The players are more focussed and motivated if they know they're not relying solely on those little twin packs of shortcake in their hotel rooms.
Iím still anxious about their inexperienced biscuit shopping when they are panic buy in the queue at TK Maxx though.

Reminds me I must endeavour on further experimental biscuit shopping on this trip to Uganda, no gems so far, though lots of willing child relatives to do uncritical research.

Itís bittersweet (though they were quite crunchy) to say I may never match my snack purchase here in 2020

I wouldn't worry unduly, Brazilian biscuits are pretty shite. BTW you can get Ugandan biscuits here in Ireland.

Coutinho could probably see the beautiful Regency architecture of Leamington and asked the pilot to do a loop so he could have a second look.

"Look at the ornate iron work on the regency townhouses, do you know they were made from metal from the cannons of Napoleon captured at Waterloo?" he said, excitedly, to his family as he gestured down at the elegant old town.
I think he asked the pilot to check if Shades was still open.

I lived on Leam St. in 1975/76 as a student at Warwick.

The coppers were taking all yoots fingerprints in relation to an infamous murder in the area.

Then a fascist chap called Robert Relph put up a sign that his house was for sale to whites only, and all hell broke loose.

True stories.

So not match ready
Is this more Bale than Lingard of January window ?

Lingard was able to play and make a difference
Bale against weaker opposition was sometime brilliant but generally weak overall and lacking

Perhaps Coutinho will be a mixture initially and when he's fully unleashed would be brilliant to see him have Bale like quality with Lingard impact like last January window move comparison.

I think once fit PC will be magic and will be one of the best ever players ever to see score long range goals at Villa park for a long time! Up the Villa
Exciting times but cautious of the old pals network.

Found this compilation. Well worth watching all of it. Not just his goals but it has absolutely everything that makes him what he is. The movement, the vision, the close control, the ability to know whatís around him, spacial awareness. And yes of course the goals. My goodness what a talent. I do hope we have enough intelligence and movement around him to take full advantage of what he will deliver. Incredible footballer.

I know we're all getting giddy with excitement about this but I can't shake the nagging doubts.

At Liverpool he was special because they built the team around him. At Barcelona they didn't because they also had Messi, Iniesta, etc and he was either unable or unwilling to adapt.

Even if we wanted to build the team around one player again (and I really hope we don't having been there for three years with Grealish) we're not going to do it for a loanee.

I appreciate there's limited risk given it's a loan, and I'm sure it played a part in the Digne signing so there are off-field benefits, but I'm just not convinced he's going to be the game changer he used to be.

Look at his Munich stats then. They didn't build the team around him, as they've got the likes of Lewandowski etc, but he did very well there.

Missus already has a matching Villa shirt. :) https://www.instagram.com/ainee.c/?hl=en

As an aside he seems a fairly level-headed sort. Devout Christian and brought his parents and girlfriend (now wife) with him when moved to Italy at 18.

Up the Villa bab.

He's never come across as one the playboy types in fairness.

Can't afford to be, spends all his money on dentistry
