My dad and me consider that the 3-3 draw at VP in April 1990 was the moment we finally knew that we weren't going to win the league. I still remember Rosario slotting their third, and equaliser, at the Holte. Since that game Norwich are to be battered whenever possible.

2 things i noticed  Cascarino dribbled the ball !  and that through ball by Sid ❤️
It had the lot. God scoring, Platt scoring, Cascarino scoring his first of not many, Mountfield own goal. Nice sunny day...

Wasn't that the game where it became mathematically impossible to win the league. I was in the HE for that and I'm sure I remember that being the case.

I was at this one. We were the better side and should have won.

I was also at that one. It was in my clubbing period so the memory is perhaps a tad hazy, but I seem to remember it was “really starting to sink in” time, rather than the first indication we might not win it.

Edit: just read your post again Martyn and seems we are in agreement.

On M11. Why Norwich on a Tuesday night?

I feel for their fans, they have a similar slap pretty much anywhere they go. Even their local rivals are 40 miles away..

I have memories of them time wasting from really early on in the game. For the life of me I can't recall the sequence of scoring, did they go two up?

It was, we had to win our last two and Liverpool pretty much fail to win any of their last three. It did mean we were guaranteed second no matter what else happened, so we could all go and have a nice quiet afternoon at Goodison.

Edited with maths. Before Norwich, we were 2pts behind Liverpool with 2 to play, they had 3 left.

The best scenario would be it's Nakamba since he is injured anyway.

Whoever it is, we should have enough to beat Norwich.   No excuses.

Ladbrokes have put N/A on SJM to score tonight.

Obviously a foregone conclusion!

No El Ghazi either.

Very young bench.

Sanson will probably have long Covid and never been seen in a Villa shirt again.
