It was a huge risk to replace Smith, with Gerrard, and it's clearly not paying off in realms of improvement. The fact that Villa appear to have abandoned the recruitment strategy that helped us get promoted, stay up, and later establish ourselves in the league is what concerns me the most. I would be quite sad if that was altered just to satisfy Gerrard.

Thought, after Everton, you were now fully invested in Gerrard, Footy?

Not trying to be smug. We all want what's best for Villa and when Gerrard is lifting the Premier League trophy with claret & blue ribbons on the handles I will be delighted to be proved a clueless, faithless bastard.

Just wondering what made you get behind Gerrard a few weeks ago, and now...less so. What's changed?

I reckon those furrows in his forehead will be so deep after the next couple of games, the top of his head will fall off.

Let's trust Gerrard tonight on his horses he's selected for this course at Arsenal
Hopefully he has a plan and strategy that will be executed.
I quite like the attacking players in the line up.
Hopefully the balance is right.

Last season at the Emirates the 1st half performance was as angry as I got (apart from the Wolves capitulation) Arsenal battered us for 45 minutes and Dean Smith stood there gormlesssly watching it without a clue how to change it.

Today the lego haired chancer has done a carbon copy of that performance. That God forsaken formation is killing us and giving Arsenal all the freedom they need to play. I could throw a fucking hula hoop over the front 3. The defence, midfield and forwards are 'playing' as three separate entities.

He is miles out of his depth, I guarantee he'll be on Sky Sports as a pundit within a year.

Based on what we've seen in pre-season and our domestic games, I reckon Gerrard would struggle to get a tune out of a music box.

He probably wouldn't even know that you need to wind the key to make it work.

The weird thing is that he started pretty well. I've taken a look at our results - he's had 32 league games. 26 points from the first 16 games = 5th place form. 12 points from the last 16 games = relegation form. The wheels fell off after we won three in a row in February/early March. If things don't turn around against Leicester and Southampton I reckon we'll have a new manager by the end of the international break.

Against Leicester it's a real six pointer next week losing manager could get dismissed.
