He never said Sanson was fit. Back in training...
I'm concerned about the strength of midfield, however, in Buendia and AEG we have players who track back. Looks like a 4-2-1-3 to me.

Go for it.

He said was in training but wasn't sure if he was fit enough to start. To not have him on the bench is ridiculous. Oh well, will hopefully be somebody else picking the team next match.

He said, "Morgan Sanson being available is a positive for us". I'm not sure how.

IF he’s fit and IF there’s been a fallout, then it would be pretty clear that he doesn’t trust Sanson in what could be a must win game for Smith.

The bench is very youthful.
Too young?

Jed Steer 29
Kortney Hause 26
Ashley Young 36
Carney 18
Jacob Ramsey 20
Aaron Ramsey 18
Philogene Bidace 19
Keinan Davis 23

It seems to me that Smith just does not like Sanson pretty much in the same way he does not like Gulibert who seems to be doing ok on loan again

DS picking his El Ghazi wildcard, interesting. Really the Southampton team isn't that good so I'd like to think we have two goals in us and hopefully that will be good enough for at least a point.

Sanson not making the bench is very very odd given what was said yesterday. Really hope it isn't a case of he was told yesterday he wasn't starting and threw another strop. Perhaps he picked up something in last training session.

We always lose down there (last season apart). That said their team isn’t massively full of big names.

I worry about Sean Long off the bench. He seems to have a knack of scoring against us.

Looking on the bright side at least Ings won't be scoring his usual goal against us

Buendia again not in the position where he had his success. Nakamba, McGinn and Buendia in the middle is just too weak defensively. Fortunately I don't think their team looks great but I still feel like we are probably going to concede 2. Fuck knows, hopefully completely wrong or if I'm not that we've scored 5.
