This is a momentous occasion. Elder daughter came with me to VP three times and we failed to score. Exit elder daughter stage left.

Younger daughter, has rejected all attempts and is thirty. But she has hooked up with a lovely lad whose family are all Arsenal (his Dad has a season ticket, he's way down the waiting list so has a Fulham S/T).

This has triggered a MASSIVE change in my daughter, who has become a raving Villa fan, at first worshipping Him but when he ran away love turned to bile. She loves McGinn's backside and all of Ollie. Boyfriend's Dad is giving son his seat for this game and son has wheedled another next to him. So she's going, and if we score she will go absolutely potty (she get this from her Mom, who always insisted we go in the Away section).

This is a tough one to call. Hope we can get Saturday's debacle out of our system but fear that it will continue to make us edgy for some time to come.

Arsenal were lousy against Palace on Monday and were lucky to get a point but I don't know...

2-1 Arsenal.

I can't see us beating them for a fourth successive time. Any team in poor form or need a result often just happen to get it vs us and I can see this happening to us on Friday.  3-2 Arsenal with late fuck ups from Villa.

I think we will win again at Arsenal, 1-3 with a cameo sub appearance from Bailey. Saka picked up an injury in Arsenals last game so hopefully he will miss this one.

Arsenal will come out of the traps and press. They will then tire, which might be exacerbated by the short turnaround, and it’s at that point we need to hit them hard. Saturday’s collapse makes this pretty important.

Very difficult to predict what team will turn up and indeed how we will play after last weeks shell shock. Given this, I am playing safe and reverting to law of averages and predict our first league stalemate since August.

1-1

I like the look of that team and formation but can't see Watkins being left out.

Watkins for Bailey with Bailey coming on for the last 30 minutes.
