Fireworks and knives
« on: October 16, 2021, 07:31:16 PM »
Did anyone get caught up in the fun and games after the match in Aston Park?

A gang of local kids were firing fireworks randomly into the fans walking down Trinity Road. They were then chased into the park by Villa fans, but then chased the Villa fans back down towards the road waving knives and machetes.

Some of the locals dont like match day
Perhaps they didn't notice the massive football stadium when they moved in.

When we were driving back yesterday there were four or five ambulances with their blues and twos on going toward the ground.

Yes TC and I were waiting on the Trinity Road for a black cab and saw the fireworks. As an aside, we had to wait an hour for a cab.  I thought we'd never get home!

Always see a few fans heading up towards Aston Park after evening games and always think it's a bit risky.

I do hate the area around the ground, to be honest. I spent about three years signing on at Aston jobcentre, so had enough of the local scumbags to last a lifetime.

Not that everyone in the jobcentre or everyone in Aston is a scumbag, of course, it just has more than its fair share.

Poverty breeds problems though hey.

Not wishing to disbelieve you, but did you see the knife incident? It's strange that something so potentially serious hasn't been in the news.

Yep saw the knives, about a 2ft long machete and another longish blade. As did the 20-30 Villa fans who were running away from it all. I also dialled 999, before you ask, to be told they had received a number of reports.

Thanks for that. It sounds a very nasty episode and you must have been shook up by it. Hopefully the police will be able to catch the culprits.
