I know it's always been 'cooler' not to wear colours, but if nobody did something would definitey be lost from the match day experience.  Seeing the Holte (or half of Wembley) swathed in claret and blue is a sight to behold.

I think portly adults should definitely think about the wisdom of choosing a tight fitting match day shirt, but colours? leave your cool badge at home and wear 'em with pride.

I’ve kind of swapped the full on Villa shirt look for having loads of different tops that are vaguely claret, including my hair for quite a while.

I wear a Villa top to play 5 aside in. I'll sometimes stick one in if a few of us get together to watch an away game on TV if I don't go to it.

I must admit I don't wear them that often I keep them in my collection.

The last Villa shirt I bought was the Acorns one but think my son has half inched that one. I have three Villa shirts that I have kept, all originals, the 89-93 away shirt, the 92-93 laces home shirt and the 93-94 Muller league cup winning home shirt. Love them all and bring back so many happy memories of when I chose to start supporting the club.

Retro for me - 1957 (although my 21 year old has nicked that) and Home and Away Euro Cup era shirts.  Even my 21 year old prefers retro to the kit - he also has both umbro classics.

I still have my original Hummel Mita Copiers Half and half stripey top, but that was when I was a different shape - interested to see them going for £200+ on ebay though!!

They are just great colours and I believe every other 'claret and blue' club is just paying homage to us. In the same way Juventus pay homage to Notts County. Even though I don't buy the latest version, I still seem to buy one retro or training top a season and Xmas always includes claret and blue gifts. I love the dressing gown, not so sure about the duck. The good news is you can pass this on as my eldest daughter had the chance to have anything in the club shop and chose the home shirt after I predicted she'd pick the pink t-shirt.

I think the Luke shirt from a few years back is my favourite ever home shirt. It’s very Villa. You couldn’t see a West Ham or a Burnley in that kit. I can’t think why I never bought one when I bought the dross that Macron put out. Favourite away is the black and white Hummel one.

You can also see the Sty from the M6. And Walsall’s ground.

I've not bought a shirt in years, more because I refused to support gambling (or related) companies, and by the time we'd moved away from those I'd got well out of the habit of buying them.

Instead, match going gear now consists of:

A scarf given away on the posh train down to the '94 league cup final.  Thin horizontal claret stripe, thick sky blue stripe, thin horizontal claret stripe, with "ASTON VILLA FC - COCA-COLA CUP FINAL 1994" in (very) worn claret print in the middle stripe.  I've worn it to pretty much every game since.

A claret & blue woollen hat that my mum knitted for me, which I first wore to the home game against CSKA Moscow.  It looks very 'homemade', but I love it.

Usually wear either a claret t-shirt or jumper, depending on weather, and blue jeans.  Decidedly unsubtle when combined with the hat & scarf combo, but put a coat on and shove the hat & scarf in my coat pocket, and can go incognito pretty quickly (useful for pre/post match drinking when being blatantly a Villa supporter would prove to be an obstacle)
